Marian, Please forgive me for butting in here; Shag (Jim Spencer) and I

are co-moderators of another group(

http://health.Avian2005/

<http://health.Avian2005/> ) and I just happen to

know that he and my Sis are away for the weekend through Tues pm, I

bekieve.

But I will volunteer this. These are two thoughtful posts; I could sit

here days and not be able to ask your very thoughtful questions or reply

as well as did Misty. And, I am encouraged hearing your story that

" the system " , broken as it may be, still functions.

Misty points regarding " scale " and " boxing " cut to the corefor me. I

will add this: Medicare funding, when approved initially carried with it

projections for the next 15 years---it was to increase from under

$8biillion to somewhere around $15Billion by 1992, which, allowing for

inflation, democraphics, etc makes sense---a 6%-8% increase per year. In

1992 it was more than $100billion higher and today, roughly another 15

years later, it is a $trillion government sponsored business, with

pending legislation to give more than total 1992 expenditures to

parmaceutical companies ONLY and ONLY for a segmant of the

population--that is " seniors " If not controlled this 800 pound

" guerilla " will put us all on the " Animal Farm " --nothing, in my mind,

can be as dangerous as allowing the government to make determinations as

to one's mental health. Every child --very few, I am certain-- is not

as lucky as is yours with concerned aware caring relatives, and I think

that those that would rule us know this (forgive the " conspiracy

theory " , but I think you understand my point.)

The human spirit, though under attack from all sides, will continue

winning as long as we are aware. Shag responded to another on our

forum-- " we need more watching--NO we need EVERYBODY that can still see

watching (No offense visually impaired folks) ---I 'm sure he'll agree

with and feel complimented by Misty's post.

Take care, be aware , UncBob

(---you'd be more than welcome at Avian2005, but I will warn you, the

moderators are not as focused as those here--big big volume of barely

connected alternative health posts)

Hi, Uncle Bob:

You have a valid point. The government needs to keep their butts our of

people's business. I do agree to keep Big Brother away is vital. As for

the Medicare System, from what I know, I have not one good thing to say

about it and know of nothing positive it has to offer except possibly paying

bills. What is received may not be worth the venture, and once you pay some

out of pocket to make it almost work, the whole venture may come short of

being a wash. That is another subject though. My 25 year old, who is

handicapped, received Medicaid for a while, and presently is on my husband's

health plan.

As parents, my husband and I have turned over backwards and sideways to keep

the government of our business and that of our children. Homeschooling was

one way amongst many. Using alternative medicine for our eight children,

especially our Down Syndrome child, has avoiding much rigmarole. There were

occasions when the technique I used years ago of not acknowledging

disabilities and handicaps even when others pointed them out to me did not

work out well as pointed out in previous posts.

You mentioned Shag's comment that we all need to watch and be aware. In

that spirit, you seem to understand that it was in that spirit that I

pointed out that all decisions including the avoiding labeling, even if they

usually worked out to the positive, can come back to slap people in the

face. I gave an example in my last two posts. What happens to someone,

most likely, also happens to someone else. This is not necessarily an

indication to change one's ways, but we need to spread the bitter with the

better spreading awareness. Sometimes, there is a heavy price to pay either

way, but you seem to think that when we do right, the right ends up

prevailing. We always hope so, but we need to be careful once we learn of

people being taken advantage of for ethics that they thought were always

right.

Marian
