Hi Dave,

Find a good calcium/magnesium supplement (ensuring it contains acid such as ascorbic acid or citric acid as otherwise they are worthless), or make your own:

put 1 level tbs (15ml) of calcium gluconate in a normal sized glass (this calcium contains 9% pure calcium)

add 1/2 level tsp (2.5ml) of fresh magnesium carbonate basic (the one which contains 29% pure magnesium, also called magnesium alba)

add 1 tbs (15ml) of cider vinegar (at least 5% acidity)

stir well

add 1/2 glass boiling water and still until all the powder is dissolved and the liquid is clear

fill the remained of glass with lukewarm or cold water and cover

You can make larger quantities simply by multiplying the ingredients accordingly. The solution will stay good for 2 days.

Anything from 1 -3 glasses of this per day with or after meals replaces any tranquilizer but it does not produce the drugged effects.

It can be made wrongly so that it does not dissolve. Variations from the above produce an unsuccessful mix that can taste pretty horrible. So if it tastes horrible, you've not made it right LOL

love

Lisa

Herbal Remedies - OCD

Hi all,Just wanted to ask one more question. I have been drinking the lemon balm tea which someone in this group suggested and it really hasn't helped too much with my anxiety disorder. The disorder is OCD and have mental obsessions and compulsions which cripple me through out the day. Anyways things are really tough but if you guys know of any tea's that are super calming and can relax my thoughts enough for me to work effectively and deal with the underlying issues, I would be your friend for life. Right now I drink milk thistle and lemon balm tea. Any suggestions would be sincerely appreciated! Thanks so much! Dave

You might try a combination of:

Chamomile, Hops, Passion Flower, Lemon Balm, Catnip and Valerian. Use 1 part ( a part is any measurement you choose, tsp., Tbsp., hand full, etc. ) each of all the herbs except Valerian, use 1/2 part. (if you are using 1 tsp. for the other herbs, use 1/2 tsp. Valerian.) Mix together well and use one tsp. per cup of hot water for tea. These are all relaxing herbs; was thinking a combination of them might help. You could take a cup 3 times a day. If you have a coffee grinder (mill) you can powder the combination and put into capsules, if you do this I'd use 2 three times a day. One other thing you can do is make a little bag, sew on 3 sides add the herbs to this and sew the 4th side, you can take this with you and when you feel anxious you take it out and smell it for a minute or so, between the cups of tea.

Hope this helps.

My 12 year old daughter has been diagnosed with an Obsessive Compulsive

Disorder called trichotillomania. With trichotillomania, she pulls out

her hair due to the stress that she encounters (school, peer pressure,

etc.). Her doctor suggests that medication may be an option. I don't

know about you but the anti depressant medications (Prozac, etc.) scare

the hell out of me! From what I've been researching, it seems the

medication does not help and sometimes the symptoms can worsen. I have

been researching some natural alternatives that have been used with

people who have trichotillomania, but I really don't know much about

them. I have found four natural ways: 1) Marjoram leaves 2) Kava

Kava 3) Chamomile tea 4) Natracalm. I have read that Kava Kava

should only be taken by people who are 18 and up. I have also read

where some people have found Natracalm to be a very effective natural

way to relieve the stress. Any further input would be greatly

appreiated.

Thank you,

Dave

I would recommend that you only try one thing at a time, so that if she

reacts, you will know what did it. Be very careful, even with natural

substances, because people can react to them, and you want to be especially

careful

with children.

Personally, I would use energy technology, and have her sleep on a magnetic

mattress, and also use FIR. They have been shown to be very relaxing, and

also help encourage sound sleep. I use then for fibromyalgia.
