Guest guest
Dave, My son was diagnosised with ADHD (whatever that " hoax " is) I had nasty fights with some teachers and their counselors because of how they were treating me. When they see deaf/hearing impaired mother (me), they seems to automatically assume that I am too dumb to mother and care for my kid. I was a single mother and it was easy for a lot of people to bulldoze over me. I had to change the way I live and the way I was raising my son. I argued and begged his father (my ex husband) to please spend more times and talk to him. I did the same, gave him more love and married a wonderful deaf man who is a great role model and kid at heart. Taylor, son, started to calm down, felt at ease with himself and the rest of the world. He started to pay attention more, focus inwardly, became mindful of his surrounding and feeling less compelled to act out. His father noticed the positive change and has thanked me many times for not letting the system drugged up our kid. Sometimes, all it takes it a change in the diet. (I found out that my son was allergic to corn and nut as well as cat horribly...also he had some mercury in his system which can be flushed out with professional holistic care which can be found in telephone books or " Green Page " phone books that you can find in health food store, herbal shop, etc.) Sometimes all the kid just want is to know they are loved so they can feel safe. There are so many ways to meet the kids' needs, emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually and socially. What works for my son will not always work for others. Don't give up, Dave, fight for your girl. My Daddy did fought for me when the school found out about my deafness and wanted to meddle in every way possible. I thank God for him everyday of my life.
