Hi Halsted...

I understand- it is confusing- as part of their strategy... It is

not a done deal- yet- but getting very close in Europe- which will

affect us here in the US- very possibly in 2005...

The bills in congress have not been reintroduced, but once they do

they have an amazing way of pushing what they want through very,

very fast. So I thank you for contacting your senators...

As far as GNC- we need to look at a couple of things. Health food

stores are being influenced by their trade organizations that are

funded by the pharmaceuticals. I do know at EXPO West (a major

convention for health food stores and manufacturers) this weekend

there will be speakers to educate the health food stores about the

very real CODEX threat.

Now- we have to look at who runs the health food store. If it is a

small mom and pop shop the odds are greater they are concerned about

providing the highest quality of products available- therefore know

more about CODEX and are more active in stopping CODEX. In contrast

I contacted someone who sells Shakley and they said their company

isn't concerned- actually benefits- because their products rarely if

ever exceed the RDA- recommended daily amount of nutrients- which is

just enough to keep you from getting scurvy- in other words- very,

very low. For them they can still sell afterwards- with some

modifications. Unlike the mom and pop shops which will be out of

business once 80% of their products are illegal or banned.

Now I can't say for sure where Shakley stands- it has been over 3

years since that conversation- but neither can I say where GNC

stands...

Hope that helps,

Misty

not had a reply. If this is a done deal- many of us will be mad. I

looked at GNC website-- nothing on codex.
