Guest guest
Hi Gina - I'm sorry I'm late replying, but I really wanted to share some ideas with you, from my own experience. My now 9-year old used to have Asperger's and was very prone to " meltdowns " , tantrums, violence, and destructiveness. His MD wrote me off as stressed. I decided to wait a year to see how he did in kindergarten, which was tough and led to alternative pursuits of a cure, while seeking " professional " help. During the same time, he had " glue ear " I was trying to treat without tubes. For that I tried Cranio-Sacral Therapy. We started out every 2 wks. On the first follow-up, the chiropractor asked if I'd noticed an improvement in his hearing, and my answer was, " No, but he HAS been remarkably well behaved. " This pattern continued. The change in his behavior was incredible! He turned into a sweet angel. Then we had him muscle tested (kinesiology) by an herbalist. She found indications of allergy, including food dyes and wheat. We started by removing the artificial ingredients, and his " self " improved more, and more and we put him through a nutritional regimen and removed wheat from the house. His hearing cleared up when we removed wheat and his behavior completely turned around, I'm so proud of him instead of so frustrated with him. He is a completely different child. It's been several years now and I've noticed he seems to have regressed recently. I think I need to have him re-muscle tested and his supplements adjusted. I need some guidance for that. Last May I was so confident in him that I took him on a vacation to a place he'd wanted to go to, just us two. It was great, we did a lot and loved every (almost) minute. I couldn't take him now. I can give more details on the supplements, if anyone is interested. I did TONS of research, and still try to keep up. In summary, I recommend: 1. - get rid of dyes! 2. - try cranio-sacral therapy (cst) 3. - try muscle-testing for allergies Hope this helps, Sarah J Gina [kelticgirl14] Saturday, February 26, 2005 6:17 AM [s-A] ADD HI there! I am new to the group. I was wondering if anyone had any information about alternatives for ADD. I am presently weaning my child off her meds and was looking for ways to help her deal with this problem. Thanks, Gina
