Battle Diabetes with Nutrients & Supplements

This info is from Don Colbert, M.D., author of the " Bible Cure " Book

Series. Diabetes is NOT a hopeless life sentence to deteriorating

health! The good news is that you can battle it - and WIN, for a

long, productive life! Here's some vitamins & supplements you

should use as a WEAPON to WIN THE FIGHT!

===================================

CHROMIUM

Research suggests that our bodies require certain nutrients for

normal

blood sugar and insulin absorption. Chromium is one of those

nutrients. Chromium actually helps to increase the efficiency of

insulin; it allows insulin to more effectively transport the glucose

into the cells.

ALPHA-LIPOIC ACID

ALA is a very powerful antioxidant. Lipoic acid may also help to

lower

blood sugar, especially when in combination with chromium. However,

if

you're taking diabetic medications, you should monitor your blood

sugar

closely since lipoic acid and chromium are able to lower blood sugar

quite significantly.

VITAMIN E and VITAMIN C

Antioxidants are extremely important in all diabetics. Vitamin E

improves the action of insulin and thus helps to lower the blood

sugar.

It also may help to protect you from developing cataracts.

MAGNESIUM

Adequate magnesium intake may improve insulin production. It may

also

help prevent long-term complications from diabetes.

ZINC

Type 2 diabetics tend to lose zinc in their urine. Zinc is very

important in the synthesis of insulin.

NIACIN

This B vitamin may help to restore the insulin-producing cells in the

pancreas, which are the beta cells.

VITAMIN B6 and B12

May help prevent diabetic neuropathy.

BIOTIN

Needed to process glucose.

ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS

May help prevent diabetic neuropathy. Aid in insulin secretion in

Type

2 Diabetics.

GYMNEMA SYLVESTRE

Herb from India that helps the pancreas produce insulin in Type 2

diabetes. Helps lower the blood sugar in both Type 1 and Type 2

diabetes by enhancing the action of insulin.

BILBERRY

Plant from Europe that helps improve the circulation to the retina,

thus helping to prevent diabetic retinopathy.

QUERCETIN

A bioflavonoid that may also reduce the risk of diabetic retinopathy.

GRAPESEED and/or PINEBARK EXTRACT

Another bioflavonoid that can help strengthen the small blood vessels

of the retina helping reduce the risk of retinopathy.

GINKGO BILOBA

Improves blood flow to the brain as well as to the arms, fingers,

legs

and toes.
