Guest guest
Hello Dear Stephanie, I've been reading about your daughter's recurring rash breakouts and it seems there may be room here for another suggestion. When approaching my favorite system of natural first aid symptom relief (G-J0 acupressure) I found it named impetigo or hives, and so started there. Acupressure for infants and children is gentler than for adults to whom we apply up to twenty pounds of pressure, (in a compassionate, healing manner of course). We have observed rapid disipation of 'heat rash' for example, during in a Florida summer, when an infant's parents apt. A.C. unit failed. The rash simply disappeared in front of our disbelieving eyes. Now I don't know for sure if that is considered 'burying or masking a symptom', yet I think not. It's more akin to when we use G-Jo for allergies (non-specific), it merely sponsors release of our own anti-histamines to calm the hyperactive cells. Hasn't it been said we have everything we need at our disposal ?!? I took a few minutes to dowse some preferred points for you to try if you would. One is located on the back of the neck, a couple of baby thumb widths off the point where the skull joins the spine. The other is found on the inner wrist right where the hand arm meet, in line with the middle finger. Finding the point(s) in this system means coming into it with the tip of the finger or thumb and goading a bit to feel a 'special spot' or seeing a reaction from your child. Interestingly when applied to toddlers they admit to feeling 'pain or discomfort' but don't attempt to pull away. It is a 'pure pain, one the body recognizes as necessary.' Stay with each point on both sides for a minute or so, or until the rash subsides. Naturally you'll stop the stimulation when the rash goes down. Anyway, Best of Luck, 'won't hurt to try' Using G-Jo since '78 Regards, Frederick
Guest guest
My son went through this about a year ago, at age 4. It lasted about a week. We thought it was a food, since we were just getting his diet off gluten and getting other allergies ironed out. My mother-in-law asked if it was something specific, like " slapped face disease " , LOL. I don't remember exactly what it was but the symptoms were come-and-go rash and red, hot cheeks, little bit of cold symptoms. Hope this at least reassures you that it has happened to others. I'd recommend the same comfort measures others have offered. Sarah J STEPHANIE DIONNE [esdionne] Tuesday, February 22, 2005 3:45 PM [s-A] skin rash Hello there, My youngest daughter (23 months) has been getting this strange rash that I can't figure out. It's like hives where the skin gets red then there is a white welt in the middle. She's been breaking out with this hive like rash for a couple of days now. It comes and goes as quickly as it comes on.
