Trepke http://www..com Aromatherapy for Dry Skin Dry skin from winter conditions pertaining to dry heat, overheated apartments and homes, fireplaces can all cause the skin to crack and become depleted of moisture. Dry skin is the result of a deficiency in the oil and moisture that are required to keep the skin lubricated resulting in flaking, scaling, and cracking. Drinking at least 8 - 8 ounce glasses of water a day helps keep the skin hydrated and the internal organs functioning smoothly. Lavender Essential Oil: Lavender is often called the universal oil, because you can use it for so many things. It is analgesic, anti- coagulant, anti-convulsive, anti-depressant, anti-fungal, anti- infectious, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, anti-spasmodic, anti- toxic, cardiotonic, and is a sedative. It has a very balancing effect on the body, emotions, mind and spirit. It may help acne, allergies, arthritis, asthma, boils, bronchitis, and is excellent for burns of any type. It has been used for cramps, dandruff, depression, diaper rashes, earaches, eczema, fainting, flatulance, hair loss, headaches, high blood pressure, indigestion, insect bites and repellant, infection, flu, insomnia, laryngitis, helps to detoxify the lymphatic system, migraines, nausea, nervous tension. PMS, psoriasis, rashes, helps to prevent scarring, sprains, stress, stretch marks, sunstroke, throat infections, tuberculosis, typhoid fever, thrush, water retention, and wounds. It can be applied on the vitaflex points or directly on the area of concern. Tea Tree Essential Oil: This germicide and antibacterial oil is great for cleaning infected wounds or as a gargle for a sore throat - - use a 10-percent solution but use pure 100-percent tea tree oil. Rose Essential Oil: The Mother of All Flowers, the Rose has amazing powers of love, trust and self acceptance. Roses are representative of faith, hope and love and has the qualities to restore the very center of one's being. A gentle tonic of the heart, Rose oil's psychological properties lie mainly in its effect on the mind, the center of our emotional being. Rose oil calms and supports the heart and helps to nourish the soul! Sandalwood Essential Oil: In Chinese medicine it is used to treat stomach ache, vomiting, gonorrhea, choleric difficulties and skin complaints. In India it is often combined with rose in the famous scent " Aytar " . In aromatherapy it is used for acne, dry, cracked and chapped skin, greasy skin, and as a moisturizer. It is used for bronchitis, catarrh, coughs (dry persistent), laryngitis, sore throat, diarrhea, nausea, cystitis, depression, insomnia, nervous tension and stress-related complaints. Extensively used as a fragrance component and fixative in soaps, detergents, cosmetics and perfumes. For dry, flaky skin, mix together two tablespoons of oatmeal, two tablespoons of cornmeal, and two tablespoons of wheat germ or ground almonds. Mix well by hand or in a blender with one teaspoon of honey and enough water to make a paste. When well blended, add six drops of two of the above essential oils. Use this as a gentle scrub for a few minutes, then rinse well with warm water.
