Guest guest
Hello Denise, I do have some experience in treating amyloidosis. I have helped two people actually. How impaired are her kidneys? Is it just her kidneys, or is it present in orther organs as well? Which type does she have? There are three major types.. WHat are her Doctors saying? What medications is she presently on? Knowing which type is extremely important as types two and three can be related to other diseases. How are her kidneys currently functioning? The biggest cause of this disease in my opinion is related to diet.Is or has she been on a hgih protein diet? Is she overweight, and if so how much? This would just be the start of questioning, just to get an idea of where she is at, and what stage the disease process is in. Sincerely MARK OH one other thing..... SHe needs to start taking Milk Thistle right away. I would suggest 200 mgs three times daily. I buy this herb in bulk, but if you buy it in capsule form you can also look for something called silymarin, which is the active ingredient in milk thistle Amyloidosis is a disease in which insoluable protein fibers are deposited in tissues and organs impairing their function. She needs to take in more magnesium and B6. Foods rich in magnesium are leafy green vegetables, dark green vegetables, nuts, seeds, avocados, dried apricotws, whole grains, soy products. Foods rich in Vitamin B6 are whole grains, sweet potatoes, avocados, fish egg yolks, cauliflower. I personaly would stay away from animal products, and she probably needs to cut her protein intake. Forcing the liver and kidneys at this time to metabolize and process excess protein is not good. These would just be general things that she should be doing anyway, but at this time would be even more helpful to hre body and this disease. They will not interfere with any treatment she currenly may be on. THis is serious, and she needs to act as quck as possible O'Conchubair <RNMSW wrote: I have a friend with amylodoisis(sp) in her kidneys. Does anyone have any knowledge, experience with this disease?
