Guest guest
Thanks for the detailed response. I don't know why I blew out the flame either except I just thought it should burn down sort of like a cigarette would and not flaming. I'm going to give it another try as I know I have something especially in ine ear that needs help getting out. I have tried the wax softening drops and flushing but it didn't work. Again, thanks for the help Sue In a message dated 1/10/2005 12:13:04 PM Eastern Standard Time, mistytrepke writes: Dear Sue... Not sure I understand why you blew the flame out. When I use them I light the wide end and hold my finger over the opening on the small end... Just enough to get a vaccuum and then flow going... Then put small end into my ear canal, adjusting it so it feels snug, and you can hear the flames and crackles... Let burn down, best if you have someone else doing it so they can massage sinus passages to help the process. At some point the linen part of the burnt candle is going to flop over cutting off air flow, making the process slow down. Take candle out, cut off " dead " part, put finger over small opening, again establishing a flow, and reinsert into ear... I let it go to about an inch or so from my hair/head. If you let it go too far there is a risk of the hot wax falling back into the ear canal, not a good thing...
