How do you get 23 to 29 WHOLE foods in one soup? What does " whole " mean in that circumstance? Maybe this is really silly, but it can't mean literally 23+ whole veggies in one cup, how do they all fit? ********************************************************* Hi Misty, Sorry, I didn't think of how that would sound. Whole foods doesn't mean whole as in " not cut up " . It means whole as in primary nutrition - natural foods that are unadulterated - non GMO, non-refined, non-chemical, non-processed. It means foods that are not made by man or chemically tampered with by man. The ones I use, depending which soup, have stuff in them like vegetables, mushrooms, beans, legumes, and then other things like flax seeds, amaranth, quinoa, miso. I am not OK with the cream. I have tried to get away from dairy, and don't use it, as I don't believe that adults should be having dairy. I like them, because although I am a gourmet cook, and because I often make my own organic soups, I don't often have the time to do that. I also cannot seem to get that many whole food ingredients into my soups. It becomes too expensive and too difficult to go around and obtain all of them. When we attempted to eat mostly whole foods, this made it easy. For lunch, my hubby takes a soup and a fruit/nut snack bar that has 24 whole food ingredients, and it is a healthy lunch. No chemicals. My hubby was difficult to convert, (to healthy foods) but he is getting there. Last night I steamed organic broccoli, (3 min) then I put the creamy cauliflower soup over it as a sauce, and sprinkled the top with another whole food mix of raw nuts, whole grains and seeds with a garlic flavoring. It was delicious and he loved it. It was also easy and fast, which helped, because I had been busy at a meeting. I have also turned the old green bean casserole into a healthy one. I steamed the green beans for three minutes, topped them with a natural creamy mushroom soup, and then topped it with the garlic snack mix - instead of using the awful canned soup and canned onion rings. He is eating healthy all natural food and doesn't even know it. Barb RN, Wholistic Healthcare Consultant

I am a huge fan of whole foods as opposed to isolated nutrients. Isolates are inevitably based on our incomplete knowledge. Nutritional scientists keep finding new pieces to the puzzle. Take vitamin C. First there was just ascorbic acid. Then it was found we need bio-flavonoids to get the full benefit. Next came calcium. Meanwhile oranges always offered the whole package. However, I have to differ with you on the next one <Also, you will be surprised to learn the many benefits of drinking a complete gallon of ice cold water daily.> Yes to the water, though a gallon seems a bit much, but a loud NO!! to the ice. That much cold is a shock to the system and douses "the digestive fire". Not good. And, if you are going to drink a gallon of water, make sure you have a lick of salt now and then. Live salt like Celtic Sea Salt, not the chemical sodium chloride. Thanks again for the awesome site, it is in my "resources" file!
