Guest guest
Hi all, I'm hoping to follow a pretty strict " diet " for the next 2 weeks in an effort to clean up my intestines and get back a proper balance. To do this I have to be sure not to feed the yeast with sugar or anything that turns into sugar. [i can't explain that second bit b/c I only barely understand it myself.] That means no sugar, honey or maple syrup. And, if I understood my consultation right - limiting fruits for these 2 weeks. I'm also going to try and reduce the gluten in my diet for these same 2 weeks to give my digestive system a boost. [ex., brown rice pasta instead of wheat or regular pasta] It is my sincere hope that this will help reduce or stop the ringing in my ears that is getting progressively worse and more bothersome as each week passes. I'm not really sure how I feel about this. part of me wants to see this as a challenge, an adventure. Other parts of me think " how will this work in my life? " I've already reduced the amount of white sugar in my diet by 75% and in many cases replaced it with stevia or honey. I think I have, literally, 1.5 cups of white sugar left in the house. This is actually an accomplishment b/c I love nothing more than to bake. The biggest concern for me is all the " hidden " things in our foods. And also going easier on the carbs which I always crave. [yep, already planning on more outdoor sunlight this winter] Eating with friends is out for the next 2 weeks and also many family members. I've been eating a salad with each dinner for sometime now. I am going to try eating a small salad with each meal but in reality that might happen only 70% of the time. For the next 2 weeks, with regards to produce, I'll be eating only apples, pears and blueberries and any vegetables I want and tons of leafy green stuff. btw, I used to hate blueberries but I'm getting used to them. And miracles never cease. I've also come to " like " Ezekial bread even though I still think the texture is oddly similar to cardboard! Any tips or advice would be welcome. I'm open to considering supplements to repopulate the good bacteria. I've considered not having any fruit for 2 weeks but think I would miss out on too many nutrients and also be miserable so I've decided to try limiting which fruits I eat. I did manage to eat a scrambled egg today without ketchup [loads of sugar] so perhaps I should take that as a good omen. Juicing is out, for now, unless it can be done in a blender or food processor. I want to buy a good juicer but they are so pricey and I can't really decide which to buy. I've been reading around the net the pros and cons of different models. Hope the new year is starting off well for everyone on this list, Dawne PS- yes, I drink enough water [grin] and what a help it has been for the migraines!
