Guest guest
The person really didn't give enough information about her thyroid to be prescribing basil. The only thing she said was that her thyroid was slow, which was why I said I needed more information and get off the brassica family of vegetables, which do in fact slow the action of teh thyroid galnd. I have much experience treating thyroid problems with food and herbs, and to throw out basil such as you did, without knowing more, in my opinion is wrong. Sorry if that upsets you. No intent to offend. For example, if underactivity is part of the problem and the person is also overweight, then baldderwrack is a much more effective herb, and better ofr the body. A thyroid problem is one that needs a particularly skilled person to handle, as the thyroid is so critical to overall body function. Firstly as Misty already mentioned is your diet. To much protein is not healthy at all to the body, especially if they are from animal source. It makes the body to acidic, and a healthy diet should be 75% alkaly and 25% acidic. Also protein diet is just a myth that dr.Atkins made to have more heart surgeries. Try eating more veggies and fruits which are alkalic, Carbohydrates are mostly basic alkality.Do not eat fruits after meals rather do it prior to one or some hour and a half after. You should keep in mind that your health depends on healthy lifestile. A healthy lifestile is first and most important is healthy diet, physical exercises and the health of the mind. Its too much info to write here. You should start making ajustments to your diet gradually coz otherwise you won't handle it and easily get frustrated. I would advise you to turn to alternitive nutritionist for making a specific diet for you which will take in concern your problems. So good luck with that. Now is the problem that seem to be left out is the thyroid. Basil is proved to be a very potent cure to help such problem. An aromatherapist can give you a treatment using basil essential oil which I know was able to substitute pills for hipothyroid for people eventually. Hope that helps a bit Good luck - " Misty L.
