Guest guest
I do not know what you have read, but let me give you the straight poop as they say. Enzymes are the catalyst or the spark so to speak that makes all the chemical processes in the body workl Without enzymes your body ceases to function and you would be dead. There are in fact over 20,000 different enzymes in the body. Science has been able to classify and identify between 5,000 and 6,000. When you digest living foods they are replete with enzymes, so your pancreas etc does not need to manufacture digestive enzymes to digest your food. Eating cooked food puts a strain on the body. Now there is a lack of enzymatic action, and the body must work to produce enzymes to digest the food.Couple that with the extreme acid producing foods that most people eat,( white flour and sugar etc)and you get a terrible strain on the digestive system. Here is a great herbal combination that will heal the esophagus and the stomach.... Chamomile, slippery elm, meadowsweet, and marshmallow root. Actually the leaves would work better in this case. Meadowsweet is the principal herb in this case. I joined this group after the discussion had started about acid reflux disease, so am not aware of all that has been said, but in case you did not know, over 1/3 of all americans experience acid reflux disease at least once during a month. Walt <kortron wrote: On Acid Reflux I've heard lack of enzymes cause a lot of it. I'm trying Barley Green to replenish mine at 61. Also you need to do a parasite cleanse twice a year. Most people don't get enough roughage either. Last eat live cooking kills about everything good of what little of anything there is in today's food in what we eat. I'm doing a lot of juicing and grinding up of raw carrots ect. I make it into a drink add one tea spoon of Braggs ( mother still in it ) vinegar, versus distilled and drink it twice a day. And start your healthy new life with " Organic " Raw Whole foods!! Walt2 not the doc.
Guest guest
Dear You had written this way back in 2004 about aromatics like Mint which contra-indicate in GERD. However, my personal experience with Pudin-Hara which is essential oil of Spearmint shows that I find almost-immediate relief from GERD whenever I take it diluted in little water. Dabur has been promoting spearmint oil for so long now for acidity and indigestion. Would you like to elaborate on how would mint contraindicate ? Regards, Puneet www.herbscancure.com _________ > Contraindications > •Pungent botanicals such as Ginger and Cayenne, and especially > aromatics such as Mint, Caraway, Lavender should be avoided as they can > worsen the condition. Guest guest
Avoid synthetic/chemical drugs especially during pregnancy. A simple drink termed heem is here: 12 hour soaked solution of 15-20 dried black grapes(Munakka, Manuka), fennel seeds (Badishep, sounf) 1 tsp and crystal sugar (1 tsp). This should be consumed every morning and evening, when stomach is almost empty. Pound one pearl of garlic and add to this drink just while drinking. If you get Chinese garlic instead of indian, reduce the pearl to 1/4- 1/2. Once the breathing difficulty, mucous, throat soreness reduce, stop garlic also. More guidelines on food, lifestyle and common problems during pregnancy given at ayurveda/message/3499 the benifits of black grape drink discussed at: ayurveda/message/1574 Garlic is added to take care of other problems faced by you. The warming tendency of the garlic is compensated by grapes and crystal sugar. Author has used this simple remedy in similar cases; despite what is suggested, meet nearest vaidya, he may give suggestions appropriate to the situation. Guest guest
The acid reflux can be a symptom rather than a disease in ur case . The main problem is the disturbed digestion . Due to that , the Aahar Rasa does not get transformed totally in the Rasa Dhatu . And Kapha ( Mucous ) is the Mala ( Waste product ) of it . So mucous production is going on & u r getting the difficulty in Breathing . The Breathing Difficulty is related to the Disturbed Digestion . The digestion should be corrected to decrease the Mucous problem & the Difficulty in the Breathing . As it would enhance the right metabolism , decreasing the excessive production of the Kapha ( Mucous ) . Due to this , u have Acid Reflux too . For that , the diet should be observed .. Please avoid oily , fatty foods in Dinner . Take the Dinner early in the evening . Dont Sleep in the afternoon after taking ur Lunch . Take appropriate quantity of water intake . Avoid spicy & sour food items . There r a number of medicines which can treat the Root Cause . But those should be taken after consulting the Ayurveda Physician . Dr . Gandhi S . C .
