That's a pretty harsh, judgemental approach.

 

Considering the fact that I personally know several

people who have gone the vegan/vegetarian route and

after many years of following that lifestyle have

found that it causes more problems than it solves.

Lack of red meat in the diet for an extended period of

time can lead to many health problems, including

environmental illness, a devestating, debilitating

illness I would not wish upon anyone. My experience

has been vegan/vegetarian lifestyles eventually will

fail you. I have seen much proof to that effect, and

none that it enhances you.

 

Everyone has a right to their own point of view.

Perhaps the beginnings of Thanksgiving, and the big

business side of it are not pretty, but the theme, I

believe, that currently underlies the holiday is

thankfulness for the bounty we have, for our families

and friends and the lives we share.

 

Calling the women the white man's slaves is getting a

bit carried away, in my humble opinion. There are

many things my man does that I can't imagine me having

to do - mechanical work on the vehicles, maintenance

and service of the heating, plumbing, air

conditioning, all the handyman work around the house I

never think about, he does, and on top of all that

there are many times when I find him in the kitchen

cooking, cleaning house, doing laundry, etc. No, I

don't think the women are slaves to the men, perhaps

the reverse is more likely. Though I never hear my

husband claim such.

 

I will celebrate this Thanksgiving all the things I

have been lucky enough to have in my life, and yes I

will enjoy turkey and let my guy watch the football

" blood sport " and all the other traditional things

that Thanksgiving brings about.

 

Be tolerant of others, you'll find yourself much

happier if you just let them do as they will without

seeing it as an attack upon you and your lifestyle.
