We have been taught that we must use diet andexpensive statin drugs to lower our bad cholesterol if we don't wanta heart attack. We have been taught that we must get our blood pressure down by diet(reduce our salt and fat intake and exercise) and take a variety ofexpensive drugs including diuretics (lowers blood volume), beta-blockers (inhibits adrenaline), alpha-blockers (makes heart beatwith less

force and relaxes blood vessels), ACE - angiotensin-converting enzymes (spares magnesium and potassium, but loosessodium, and relaxes arteries), vasodilators (relaxes arteries),central adrenergic inhibitors (blocks certain signals from brain),calcium-channel-blockers (relaxes arteries). However, magnesium deficiency is the real disease, and heartproblems are the symptoms of magnesium deficiency. This seems wrong, but it is a fact well hidden by the pharmaceuticaldrug pushers. It is vital to your heart health that you verify thisclaim by reading The Magnesium FActor .Briefly stated, all of the above medicines are poor substitutes formagnesium, because magnesium naturally does each of these "drug"functions far better than the drugs themselves. These drugs are poor in performance compared with magnesium, andmake us poor in terms of both our recovery and our pocket books. Theonly reason to use drugs instead of

magnesium is to make thepharmaceutical drug-pushers rich. How much magnesium? That is thecatch. We must take enough magnesium each and every day to combat theeffects of stress in its action in depleting magnesium, and thisamount is higher than has been historically true. Our "modern" wayof life is very stressful, and we all leak magnesium becasue ofstress, some more than others.I can't personally see how we can get our blood pressure down to100/60 (like it was when we were teenagers) with less than about 500mg of supplemental magnesium per day.Wouldn't that be expensive? NO! Certainly not compared to the costof these drugs, and certainly not when compared to the life-extending properties of magnesium compared with these drugs.Expensive to Social Security? Maybe, because you will live 30 to 40years longer.Expensive to Medicare? NO. Your health care expenseswill plumet downward, and you may forget the

name of your doctor!_________________JoAnn GuestmrsjoguestDietaryTipsForHBP www.geocities.com/mrsjoguest/GenesPlease pass this message or article on to someone else so that they may learn also.Community Newsletters.http://www.alternative-medicine-newsletter.infoCommunity Message Boards.http://www.alternative-medicine-message-boards.info"Do not let either the medical authorities or the politicians mislead you. This is great information, but it should be pointed out that certain

types of magnesium are better than others. I personally take

magnesium glycinate as it is much better absorbed by the body.

Manesium orotate and aspartate are good as well. The other types

just pass through the body and cause loose stools.
