Guest guest Posted August 31, 2004 Report Share Posted August 31, 2004 I am wondering if ANYONE knows of a Psychiatrist or Alternative practioner in the Buffalo, NY area that can safely withdraw my sister from all the drugs(legal) she is on. Also one of the reasons my siter is afraid of getting off the drugs is because she is on SSI.and fears that she will lose her benefits and will be made to work before she feels capable of it.She is totally toxic from these meds and feels no hope at all. Being involved in the Mental Health system is like being in quicksand....you cannot get out!One they have a hold of you they wont let go! All of these alternative therapies are so expensive and they allude the grasp of alot of patients trapped within the mental health system. I know.... I have two sisters involved. The one I am referring to in my above question is diagnosed borderline, bipolar, narcistic and who knows what else.The other one is paranoid schizophrenic and has been on meds since age 16 and now she is 41. I am the only one who is not entrapped within this system (within my immediate family).I am on alot of sites and addressing this issue and have searched for someone to at least help my one sister and have found none at this point.
