Guest guest
Hi Eloise... Ok, homeopathy is based on two main priciples: 1) on taking notice of an individuals unique symptoms and finding the remedy that best matches those symptoms, 2) the remedy is also usually diluted according to homeopathic preparation standards (a less is more kinda thing) to make it STRONGER because it is thought to remove the crude material and leave behind the " essence " of the remedy instead. And is something as a homeopath we get to adjust by which potency we suggest... Bach flowers all come in 1 potency- (distillation), but we can use down to the mother tincture which is only diluted once, all the way to it being diluted millions of times... Dr. Schussler, in the 1800's I think, noticed that there were 12 main minerals that helped comprise the body- making them vital... Comple Listing of Dr. Schussler's Cell Salts- Tissue Salts Calcarea Fluorica - Calc fluor - Calcium Fluoride Calcarea Phosphorica - Calc phos - Calcium Phosphate Calcarea Suplhurica - Calc sulph - Calcium Sulphate Ferrum Phosphoricum - Ferr phos - Iron Phosphate Kali Muriaticum - Kali mur - Potassium Chloride Kali Phosphoricum - Kali phos - Potassium Phosphate Kali Sulphuricum - Kali sulph - Potassium Sulphate Magnesia Phosphorica - Mag phos - Magnesium Phosphate Natrum Muriaticum - Nat mur - Sodium Chloride Natrum Phosphoricum - Nat phos - Sodium Phosphate Natrum Sulphuricum - Nat sulph - Sodium Sulphate Silicea - Silica - Silicon Oxide So he took those 12 tissue salts, as he called them, and put them together into one remedy and prepared it homeopathically, meaning he diluted the salts- but only a little- keeping them very close to the mother tincture side of the homeopathic spectrum. This is thought to keep the action of the remedy very localized to the more physical side of the complaint. So there are prepared homeopathically, but here we can debate whether they are used homeopathically- or isopathically... Iso means same, Homeo means similar... When one takes cell salts rarely do they go through their symptoms, research out what individual remedies (single remedies) are available until they find what fits best- what is most similar to their unique symptoms (the first principle of homeopathy) and then take the indicated remedy- that would be taking a remedy that is similar. In isopathy you would say there are 12 main minerals of the body, so I am going to take those 12 minerals in homeopathic dilution. So while I don't think they are used in proper homeopathic fashion, because they are low potency- close to the mother tincture, and they are vital minerals in the body- I do use cell salts myself on a daily basis- or as daily as I can remember... For wellbeing and general maintainance if you will... But when I get sick, I use the standard homeopathic protocal of looking at the symptoms and researching what remedy covers those symptoms best, instead of just taking " the hair of the dog that bit you " ... Did that make sense? Misty L.
