Dawne,

In my opinion the need for red meat outweighs the

toxins in the red meat. Yes, organic is definitely

better. Grass fed definitely much better than grain

fed. Other red meats include emu, osterich, buffalo,

venison, and in the middle east lamb would also be

considered a red meat. Pork is not considered a red

meat. Scandinavians also need to include fish in

their diets, as well.

As far as the vegetarians of India go, that is a

lifestyle that has been theirs for many generations.

From what I understand it takes 11-12 generations for

the body to adjust to a diet change, meaning, if 11 to

12 generations are vegetarians, then over the course

of that time the body evolves to deal with the food

supply it is given and eventually learns to fully

utilize the diet. Also, even though Indians are

vegetarians, they do not thoroughly clean their foods,

and it has been shown that when Indians move from

their native land and begin eating a vegetarian diet

in countries where the food is cleaned and and more

completely cleared of insects, that they begin to have

more health issues.
