juicing disappointment

I'm a little bummed out over my " new " juicer that I got a yard

sale. I didn't expect a really, really good juicer. I didn't

expect to juice citrus, bananas for veggies but I did expect to

have a fairly easy time with apples, blueberries etc.,

Every part of the machine is there. There was no book when I

bought it. I put a small amount of fruit into the machine. The

pulp catcher and juice catcher are both in place. The fruit

goes around maybe twice. Some falls out the juice side and most

falls out the pulp side.

The PROBLEM is that most of the stuff goes into the pulp side.

This includes perfectly round blueberries that have not been

crushed, blended, juiced or altered in any way. Then I have to

take the stuff from the pulp catcher and put it BACK into the

machine.....You can see how messy and time consuming this is.

I took a whole quart of strawberries and threw it in the food

processor. Using a fine mesh strainer I had strawberry juice in

under 3 minutes.

Maybe I need a better juicer? Any suggestions in the $100 price

range?

TIA,

Dawne

I don't have any suggestions in the $100 price range - but if you want

to splurge ($500), you can't beat a Vita Mix. It gives you total juice,

not extracted juice, which in my opinion is better for you because

you're getting all that good fiber mixed right in with the juice.

Yummy!
