Guest guest
I'm sure there are reasons why people get the idea that too much water is bad for you. One is because if you do drink a lot of water immediately before or during heavy exertion you can have problems. Have you ever noticed that marathon runners, when given a cup of water while running will take a small swallow then throw the rest on the face? That is because they realize that during heavy exertion the kidneys stop functioning, so if you flood the body with water right before or during heavy exercise it tends to thin your blood and cause hyponatremia, which can cause you to collapse. Another reason people may think that is the TYPE of water one drinks. I know some people say distilled water is a good cleanser, but distilled water should never be ingested, especially in large amounts. Distilled water is like a magnet, pulling things out of the cells - good and bad things. It may be good at pulling toxins out of the cells, but it may also explode the cell while doing it, not a good thing. The problem with distilled water was very clearly shown me a few months ago when I told a friend of mine with environmental illness that she really needed to increase her water intake before seeing a doctor I had referred her to. She did just what I told her but told me she got a massive headache that hurt clear down into her shoulders. On further questioning, I found out that she had switched to drinking distilled water when she upped the intake...she got off the distilled water and the pain dissipated. We are in such a toxic world today that we do need to drink water, a lot of it, to maintain health. As the saying goes, " The solution to pollution is dilution, " and plain ordinary filtered water is by far the best drink for your body (in my opinion).
