Guest guest
How totally exciting!!! This is like opening up a whole new world to explore... I don't know if I have any " recipes " to share other than encouragement to play, play, play... For me, I like to juice things that you can't find in a store... I mean freshly juiced orange juice is incredible, but you can go to your local good health food store, and if they have a juice bar, you can order it... For me, I like to try completely new tastes... Some of my favorites are: gingered honeydew, cranberry pineappple, apple rhubarb. Or I like to juice things in a different way than can be bought at a store- watermelon is a perfect example. I like to juice it with the rind- that is where like 98% of the nutrition is. There is a book by Jay Kordich, The Juiceman's Power of Juicing, that I think all juicers would benefit from knowing about... It lists recipes for those who enjoy that, as well as listing what each veggie or fruit has to offer nutritionally, and even specifically lists the different vitamins and minerals and which fruits and veggies have them and then even lists ailments and then the veggies or fruits that would correspond to it... Very, very complete... Also lists how to store the produce, and other juicing basics... The only thing I am careful about when I juice is the thought that fruits and veggies don't really mix. I don't remember where I heard this, but since it appealed to my tastebuds, it just stuck. So you would not mix oranges with cabbage... Or broccoli with grapes... The one exception is apple, which unlike the examples above, tastes great with veggies... Ginger, carrot, apple juice is heavenly, as well as ginger, apple, celery... Are you picking up I like ginger, that is what is great about juicing- go wild, and put in whatever you like... Who knows, maybe you will love apple cilantro? Have fun, and if you don't mind, keep us updated on your creations... Be Well, Misty http://www..com , Just Dawne <justdawne> wrote: > I just got a juicer for a good price from a yard sale.
