A pill that offers 4 periods a year

I could hardly believe what I just saw on tv a few moments ago! It was a

commercial for a new pill called Seasonale, and the hook for this drug is

that it offers only 4 periods a year. How this works is that you take an

active pill for 3 1/2 months and then a blank pill for 7days during which

time you have your period.

 

I stood there thru the whole commercial with my mouth hanging wide open!!

You see women twirling around in flowing dresses with high heels looking all

liberated and such. Like women need to have to have their cycles messed with

any more, what with all the estrogens in products and chemicals that act as

xenoestrogens. Truly sad. But probably the saddest thing of all is how it

will be embraced. As if the monthly cycle is something not to be celebrated

as a truly powerful thing.
