Good Morning!

Healing Broken Bones and Truama

A fracture is a break or a crack in the bone. Often occurring

through excessive force from injury, accident or falls. A simple

fracture is one where the soft tissue overlying the broken bone is

still intact. A compound fracture is one where the skin is damaged

so that the fractured bone is exposed.

Symptoms include swelling, pain, tenderness, inability to move the

affected part, possibly a protruding bone, deformity and

discoloration. Infection can occur if the skin is broken.

Minerals used for broken bones include calcium 800 - 1,200mg in

divided doses, magnesium 300 - 400mg and phosphorus 800 - 1,200mg.

These crystals can be taken in capsule form internally.

Vitamin A is an important supplement that should be increased during

this time.

Other Modalities to consider:

Homeopathics

Arnica every 10 minutes after the injury, then every 8 or 10 hours

as necessary.

Symphytum (bone knit) can be used once the bone is reset, only.

This can be used up to 3 weeks to promote healing.

Aromatherapy

Elemi oil increases circulation after a plaster cast has been

removed. Lavender oil in a vaporizer will help to relax and calm.

Thyme, Rosemary and Marjoram can be diluted and massaged into area

or applied as a compress to soothe pain and promote healing.

Ayurvedic

Aloe vera will help to encourage the healing of broken bones and can

be applied externally as a gel or taken internally.

Chinese Herbals

Die Da Wan and Imperial Tea da wine resolves bruising and promotes

healing in damaged tissue.

Western Herbalism

Comfrey in a poultice can be applied to the affected area to

encourage healing. Comfrey root can be taken is small doses

internally to set the bone and encourage healing.

Flower Essence

Rescue Remedy or Emergency Remedy can be taken at the time of injury

and also taken as required to calm and to treat shock.
