Dear Annette,

How long have you had the lump? Does it have a head of any kind?

I personally don't that much to " constitutional "

homeopathic remedies... I mean, sometimes it is an overhelming

clear symptom picture that x remedy, and only x remedy will fit the

bill. But on the whole, I just think the range of an individual

person is generally larger than even the enormous territory covered

by an given remedy. Heresy, I know.

So given that, I commend you on your use of hepar sulph and silicea.

Now, let me ask, why are you opposed to bursting the lump with a low

potency?

Without the symptom of pain, which would otherwise have led me to

think about Belladonna, and no real other symptoms than a lump, I am

thinking hepar sulph and silicea alternated.

I know you have tried each of these seperately, as a good classical

homeopath would do, let me suggest alternating them frequently, and

at a low potency, or at most a 200c. By taking them together, it is

like using a saw, one remedy is for the down stroke, the other

remedy is for the up stroke, so you have your bases covered.

So something like for every half hour, take a silicea, then a half

hour later take a hepar sulph, then another half hour go back to

silicea, then a half hour later go back to hepar sulph. Get what I

mean by alternating?

At some point you will want to cut back to every hour, and then

every couple of hours, etc... That can only be governed by seeing

what happens.

What I would hope for, is either the lump is absorbed back into the

body, or it comes to a head to be expressed.

For my abcess, it has been draining for about a week now, and

understanding about the 3 miles of tubing that needs to be cleaned

out, it has given me the patience and humor to ride it out...

As far as your concern about the silicea and fillings, I see that

role of silicea more as if you had a splinter, and silicea would

help the body express it out. As for fillings, I see those more as

a cast, something that is added externally, and I imagine the tooth

is truly dead when they put it on, so it I would not have a problem

with it... Now, since it is not my mouth, perhaps start slowly, or

with a really low potency...

What also makes me thing silicea is indicated is your spongy

feeling. My tooth, when I closed my teeth together, felt spongy.

The tooth felt loose right to left, but also up and down. I think

that is part of the opening up of the body in preparation for the

abscess to express. Silicea not only will help the expression, but

when it is ready it makes teeth more secure in the mouth. So it is

a win, win.

Now I have another question for you... When your tooth broke, did

you have a chance to look inside? I would imagine there have to be

living cells, tissue inside a living tooth... Do you remember? I

have just been struggling with how to understand that the body is

divorced from inside the tooth. It just makes no sense to me. If

there is indeed a living tooth, there must be living tissue in the

tooth, therfore it HAS to be connected to the rest of the body, the

body HAS to have access to it, or otherwise, how does it stay alive??

I hope that helps, let us know how you are doing.. If and how the

symptoms change... It may a progression of several to many remedies

before it is completely done... For me, I think I have used at

least 15 different remedies over the course of these last two

weeks. Now not just combination remedies that throw a bunch of

remedies at the problem hoping one will help, but specifically

chosen remedies for the symptoms in that exact moment. And

remember, that lump may not be an abscess at all... We have to stay

open to not putting a label on it, but just following the symptoms...

Best Wishes,

Misty

next tooth is OK, but have had the last two top teeth removed.

having it removed as the lump was disturbing and I know it is not

right. I had the fortune/misfortune of seeing the young, newly

qualified dentist in the practice who was pressurizing me for root

canal treatment. My one experience of root canal was such a painful

and traumatic one, it resulted in me walking around for a year with

the cotton wool temporary filling/plug, before finding the courage

to find another dentist to remove the tooth.

Merc Viv CM. I dont think it has done anything During this time I

have been self treating with Hepar Sulp M when I remember I dont

really want to burst it with low potency. . I have taken a few

doses of Silica 30, but have heard that silica removes foreign

objects/splinters etc, and dont want it to start expelling my

fillings.

Is there anything to be done to save this tooth other than root

treatment which I will not consider - Can the abcess be lanced?

would this be recommended? Will the anaesthetic injection take

effect? I have heard that if you have an infection, the injection

just doesn't work.
