Guest guest
I agree there is nothing like fresh juice, but am always in a quandary as to what to do with all the bulk that is leftover. Seems too wasteful to just discard it. Any thoughts or ideas on this. - MRSCM4871 Tuesday, March 30, 2004 5:57 AM Re: [s-A] Supplements for elderly I purchased a juicer for my elderly mom for christmas 2 years ago. She loves it! She goes to the store twice a week to load up on her fresh organic produce that she uses. She really looks forward to making herself a fresh glass of juice each morning. She is getting the enzymes, minerals and vitamins she needs . It takes her about 15 minutes in the morning to juice and clean up. She says she has never felt better in her life. Guest guest
If you get a Vita Mix (they are very expensive, but worth every penny) - they will make " whole juice " - nothing is wasted, no fiber to throw away. In my opinion, that is better for you anyway - to get the whole food. I even put in the core of a pineapple, and it purees it. I also throw in flax seeds. I use the skin of apples if they are organic. It mushes up everything. I use either soy milk, or rice milk, or almond milk - to thin it out - use whatever you like to thin it, even apple juice. The Vita Mix is more than a blender, I would call it a turbo blender. I don't use a juicer any more, and I don't use a food processor. It will make soup, sorbets, chop cabbage for salad, grate cheese, chop nuts - you name it - everything except mash potatoes. I paid almost $500 for mine about 10 years ago, and have used it every day that I am home for lunch - which is probably 5 day a week. It's very powerful.
