Guest guest
Carol I can only pass on what I have read and seem to understand. Yes there is a certain amount of cyanide in the pits. Yes you can eat too many.(how many ???) Actually it is the molecule with the cyanide attached that does the good work in fighting cancer. It has been recommended that you shouldn't eat more than 7 pits a day. Since they always seem to be split, that would mean 14 halves. Personally I randomly add them to many things. I dry grind (blender) and keep about a weeks supply in a jar. I use about a tablespoon at a time intermittently, 3-4 times a week. I am using them simply as a preventive, along with a number of other good things. You can get some (lesser concentration) from almonds, Chinese almonds, Bitter almonds, apple seeds and other stone fruit pits. Works good for me. Cheers, Doug - Carol Minnick Tuesday, March 23, 2004 6:04 AM [s-A] apricot pits Does anyone know about apricot pits being good for fighting cancer? In yesterday's paper - it was Marilyn VosSavant's column - she said you can easily ingest a lethal amount of cyanide from apricot pits if you were to grind them and eat them. But I had always heard that it was the apricot pits that people use to help fight cancer. Anyone know? I wanted to write to her, but thought I'd better find out for sure before I do.
