Roseola infantum--alternative for fever reduction

Hello,

A friend of mine has an 18 month old boy, who was born a premie, who

suffers from what she suspects is Roseola infantum. Could someone

recommend any child safe alternative to reduce high fever? The

mother has used acetaminophen but is fearful of the toxic side

effects. She tried using children's ibuprofen but it tastes so

horrible that the child just spits it up or won't drink juice laced

with it.
