Exposure to radiation is cummalitive - so with each yearly dose you are actually increasing your odds of developing breast cancer. Also Dr Mc Dougall among others say that the act of squeezing the breast to such an extent could cause any small contained tumors to burst and metasize. There are also too many false positives causing needless wories and procedures. I have also read that if you have a small tumor that is notgoing anywhere and you have a needle biopsy - that needle will cause the cancerous cells to leek to other parts of the breast. There is not one study out there that conclusively proves that mammograms lower the death rate.
