Guest guest
Hi Jerry... I hope you don't mind if I share an article from your newsletter with the group... I am sorry, I would have given contact info if I could have found it on the newsletter... Misty L. Trepke http://www..com Does Tea Belong in the Medicine Chest? Numerous papers being presented at the Am. Chem. Soc. support the health benefits of tea. A study by Dr. J. Bukowski, of Harv. Med. Sch. concludes that certain molecules in tea can activate gamma delta T lymphocytes, a part of the immune system that fights infection and tumors. Dr. Bukowski had subjects who did not ordinarily consume tea or coffee, drink 5 to 6 cups of black tea or coffee for either 2 or 4 weeks. They found greater immunity against bacteria in blood samples taken after tea drinking. H. Mukhtar, of Wisc. U., found that tea inhibited cancer in mice that had been bred to develop prostrate tumors. Others showed an association between the consumption of green tea extract and reduced body fat; while Boston researchers found that drinking tea may reduce the risk of heart attack. -Health Day
