What is the site that has this forum? This is something I am really

battling and working on (thus why I think my baby and I are prone to

thrush!)

Dear Sindea,

Candida albacans is present just about everywhere. (There are a lot of

other similiar " bad " germs out there it could be too.) From what Ive

seen the medical establishment either doesn't acknowledge it as a

problem or they want to treat it by trying to kill it with some

medicine.

This usually results in failure because it would be like trying to

kill all of the germs in your house. You might make a dent for awhile

but it probably wouldn't work.

If you want a magic bullet to take I think you are going to be

disappointed. It's not going to kill all of the bad overgrowth of

germs in your body.

Everytime you take something like anti biotics you are killing all of

he good germs that hold the bad ones in check.

You have to fight the bad germs with more good ones. Taking many

probiotics. Eating good bacteria in big amounts.

You cannot kill off all of the good bacteria ( 100's of different

varieties in your intestines) and then take an acidophilus tablet

only 1 strain to replace 100's of normal bacteria)

WE normally have a couple of pounds of bacteria good and bad in our

digestive system. The bad ones can be very aggressive and you have to

now put back enough to fight and control them again.

Make homemade yougurt and kefir. The stuff in the grocery stores are

not real anymore. The yougurt is made with thickeners like tapioca,

geletin, gum, etc.. It tastes like yougurt, and looks like yougurt but

it ain't no real one. It has live cultures in it (enough to be able to

say it) but how many is questionable.

Look at the back of juice bottles also. When did corn syrup (sugar)

become part of juice. It isn't.

I hope someone will give you mmore items to help also. give them a

little time.OK.

kind regards,

Frank

Thanks! I know all of what you said, lol. I hate antibiotics, but for whatever

reason we had 'bugs' this past month that were not going away, and so I gave in.

I also did natural support for our immune systems as well, but I know that this

antibiotics has taken its toll... I do take the acidophilous (prescribed by an

ND) along with some immune boosters... I am trying hard to cut out dairy- I

believe it is the culprit of many of my health issues, this yogurt is out for me

(not for the baby!)...

I have been so horribly sleepy for the past 2 months, that I am trying to figure

out what all my body needs me to do/change. I have cut out dairy and am using

natural progesterone cream again (I had low levels before my last child, and it

helped my fatigue then as well). So, this seems to be helping, along with

increasing my water intake.

I am going to be keeping a health journal. Maybe after a week or so of it, I

will post it and you all can pick me apart! :)

Hi Sindea,

My late son was prone to thrush as he had to take antibiotics (please don't

anyone tell me it was wrong to give him antibiotics - William was prone to

catching life threatening bacterial illnesses and yes I did use Colloidal

Silver - as far as that could work and no William didn't die from Candida

either).

I found that many of the paediatricians and nurses in the local hospital (I

live in New Zealand) were aware of the connection between antibiotics and

Candida (blew me away as they are often not that informed!) so they would

prescribe us a good antifungal as well as the antibiotics.

The one thing that I found worked really well with William - in terms of

treating the Candida - was the use of a good probiotic. It was like 'magic'

with William. I also used kolorex cream on any external signs of a yeast

infection - like he had it around his nose, sometimes on his bottom etc.

I also have suffered from a Candida infection for as long as I can remember.

I'm just starting to get better - after following a change in diet that

basically removed yeast, vinegar, dairy products (except a good yoghurt with

acidophilus and bifidus in it) and sugar (except that contained in fruit but

this was and still is limited in my diet). I was using some antifungals but

have stopped these as I'm pregnant right now.

There is also another list called the Candidiasis List and I have

found this very informative as well.

Hope this helps in someway!

Please, tell me where I can get Kefir grains. I once tried to get

some through a place that was mentioned in the Body Ecology Diet by

Donna Gates. When I called, apparently the Kefir suplier was no

longer in existance. If any of you have read her book, she basis a

ton of her health suggestions on the intake of Kefir (amongst other

things).

candida sufferers

Dear Group,

For all of the candida sufferers present (or anyone with

intestional problems), here is a different approach.

Instead of trying to kill the offending invaders with a " medicine "

(prescription or herbal) it is possible to fight with " good " bacteria.

Yes, you know about probiotic capsuls or tablets, but have you

heard about these?

two homegrown liquid probiotics

(many people claim health giving properties to both of these

substances, but one of the greatest is the high level of good bacteria

produced and ingested into your stomach and intestines daily)

They are called kefir and kombucha tea. Here are some websites for

your perusal.

I have no financial interest in either but do make and consume both

in my home.

Hi Sindea. I have been taking a probiotic called " Green Probiotics " which

has five different probiotics in it. You need more than one or two strains.

I got this from Vital Health Products, www.vhp4.com. Also, another good

product is Perfect Stool Formula Plus, which also has five different

probiotics. I got this from www.ojibwatea.com. Also, Kefir would be

great. Although kefir is made with milk, people who are allergic to milk

usually are not bothered by kefir. There are lots of us out here who would

be glad to send you some kefir grains. Good luck, Pat

I also used kolorex cream on any external signs of a yeast

infection - like he had it around his nose, sometimes on his bottom etc.

What kind of signs do you see on the skin that show a yeast infection?

Crusty yellowy stuff - and sometimes it smelled like yeast. William used to

have this crusty stuff around his nose and his eyes.

On the bottom William would have red dots to indicate thrush.

once a month I ave a vegan-jerkey snack with a bit of yeast. But I make sure

that it is limited.

I am vegan so I eat a lot of soy, corn, beans, rasins, lentils. I am not one for

of choice is Boulder Bars in berry or a serving of rasins.

I did not even need the supplements to cure it after watching my diet. I had

candida bad to! I have not had it in years!

He only has one serving of fruit every other day? This seems a bit off. Fruit is

not really a problem when it comes to candida. It is the starches, sugars and

junk food. Also other drink options could be fresh fruit-soy smoothies and

soy-milk shakes. I drink water though (bottled not tap) and have a smoothie now

and then.

I had candida twice very badly and cured it with large doses of Solar

Rays Caprylic acid and other alkalanizing foods and supplements. You

could use liquid oxygen drops and megahydryn. Lemon is also very

alkalanizing. Laura ---

When my twins were born they had thrush and yeast infections , my

doctor had me start them on yogurt immediately at 2 days old, since

then that is what I use and for the one that wont eat yogurt anymore

( teens taste change daily..lol) I use Acidophilus Tablets espcially

if one absolutly has to take a antibiotic( keflex and sulfa based

candida due to her sudden high intake of soda ( she has a job now and

pigs out on soda while at work..lol .cant watch them all the

HI Kristy....I was lucky enough that the doctor I had was into

natural ways before heading for medicines...he and his wife( his

nurse/midwife) even taught me how to do infant massage when the twins

got colic , they are the ones who really got me started back

then...and people(including my family, though they are slowly

becoming believers ..lol) still think I am nuts when I head for the

natural way before anything else .

ONe with his food, and one for vomit. We went to specialists, had

upper GI's done. Everyone thought I was nuts, and was told this was

normal, and that I was imagining it! And then when I started him on

natural stuff, within 1 week, he was completely changed...stopped

vomiting, no more bowel accidents, no more bloating... I was told it

was a cocidence, and that he grew out of it.

Lisa,

For the people who think you are nuts for using the natural things

first...ask them, what did people use 100 years ago for such and

such? There are so many things that we have gotten away from that

worked so much better than any chemical made medicine!!

Annie ...I do tell them that...I kinda get on a soap box when I start

talking to others about natural ways of doing things..lol...you

should have seen how people looked at me ( including the child I used

it on..lol)when I used castor oil and duct tape to get rid of

planters warts..but they quit laughing when they saw it

worked ..lol ..I am lucky though , my mom and one of my sisters are

believers in natural and alternative ways also ,so we can exchange

ideas, recipes and info , when we find something that works and think

the others may use it. ....Lisa

Thanks all for answering my post. I guess I've heard what I was

hoping to hear... Anyway Misty concerning your question about self

diagnosing, one of the first things I thought is maybe I'm thinking I

got it coz I just learned of it. But I dont think this is the case

here and also on the list got 158 points. I have the problem of not

eating as I should for a long time, craving large amounts of

chocolate and shugar in general (never gainig any waight) and so on.

Few years ago I really felt down, sleepy and weak so I did a blood

test which shown that I'm perfectly healthy... Surely I have some

more simptoms but you get the picture.

Kel, I have the same problem; I’m

looking into doing Dr. Schulze’s 30-day healing program (www.herbdoc.com)

Does anyone in the group have experience

with this program?
