Guest guest
Hi Jerry and everyone... Thank you for this post... As you all can tell, issues surrounding alternative health freedom are near and dear to me... I just came back from a week in MN celebrating the first meeting of the National Health Freedom Coalition... It was very exciting to meet and work with the many brillant legal minds that are working to protect the consumers access to alternative health practitioners, and those working to make it possible for the practitioners to work legally and without fear of harassment and/or prosecution. Right now there are challenges to be dealt with on a state, federal and international level... So... Needless to say, there is a lot of work that needs to be done, and I wish to contribute to the best of my ability... I will continue to update everyone on pending legislation, as well as expand further into this cause... I know Jerry is very passionate about this issue... Is there anyone else here in this forum that is as well? Just nice to know... I am still turning ideas around in my head as to where to go from here... Thank you for letting me think out loud... ps.- Jerry, I think you are right on... I think S. 1538 is a fake out... I can't support it either, especially after meeting the person who wrote and got the Proxmire Bill to pass in 1976, Clinton Miller. The FDA has everything it needs to remove unsafe supplements from the shelves, instantly, the catch with the existing legislation is that they need to PROVE it was unsafe afterwards. In S. 722 it would make the manufacturers prove it before it was sold. Can one ever really prove to a hostile, self-motivated organization that a supplement is safe? This is having the fox watch the hen house. Look at how well the FDA has protected us from Monsanto, NutraSweet, Vaccines, Flouride, ect. Be Well, Misty L.
