Guest guest
Hello everyone, Was hoping to start a discussion on kids and their sleep needs. My 9 year daughter very rarely sleeps a whole night through. She wakes up a few times a night. Anywhere from once to 4 or 5 times. Some days she is sleepy and sluggish. Other days she isn't. She often says " I woke up at 3:42 " [or whatever time]. I thought she was concerned too much with the clock or with oversleeping so I moved the clock so that she can't see it from her bed. Also, she doesn't have to wake up early in the a.m. as she is homeschooled and doesn't need to catch a school bus. Last year she went to public school and did have to be out of the house by 8:10am. Still, she complained of waking up throughout the night even then. She isn't waking up to empty her bladder and she's a very sunshine-like little girl with very little to bother her and an easy going disposition. How much should kids be sleeping? How can I help her sleep all night through? Is there a window of time when sleep is best for kids?
