Guest guest
Hi Carol, My mother went on a herbal course, and she was introduced to " Green Blood " for breakfast. The recipe is any leafy green vegetables - outside leaves of cabbage, lettuce, you can also add other green vegetables like, broccoli, bean, parsley peas, cucumber, you can add any herbs that you particularly like, and to improve the flavor, you can add an apple or pear, or even cranberry juice to make it easier to blend. Its quite easy to drink one mug/cup for breakfast. They recommended that you drink it straight away to take advantage of the vitamin content which may deteriorate if left. Mercolas site has a similar recommendations for your own freshly blended vegetable juice. I haven't tried the only cabbage juice, and leaving it for a few days, I would imagine some fermentation would take place and give it an " off " taste? This particular recipe is not for the vitamin content but for the natural bacteria that I presume would develop. Fresh cabbage juice might be quite nice..... but 2 day old juice.......!!! The Portuguese have a " national " dish of cabbage soup, which some people eat every day. Let us know if you try it!! Guest guest
Annette, That green blood drink sounds good, but I kinda don't think I will try the 2-day old cabbage drink :-). I get my probiotics in other ways. I have, however, made cabbage soup that I like and eat often in the winter.
