Deep breathing

 

Inhale lavender essential oil

 

Do 10 deep knee bends, 10 toe touches and 10 stretches

 

Smile

 

Laugh

 

Drink herbal tea

 

Steam your face over hot water and herbs

 

Aromatherapy baths

 

Massages with essential oils

 

Splash or spray water or skin toners on your skin

 

Salt rubs, natural body scrubs and dry brushing the skin all over

 

Foot massages

 

Foot exercises

 

Foot baths

 

Eat five helpings of fruit and vegetables each day

 

Wash your face twice a day, unless it's dry, then only once a day,

tone and moisturize

 

Exercise in fresh air; walking, biking, in-line skating

 

Sleep

 

10-15 minutes of unprotected exposure to sunlight to get your

vitamin D and help with depression (unless your doctor has told you

to avoid the sun completely)

 

Drink plenty of water

 

Walk listening to quiet music, a book on tape, or just the natural

sounds of your environment

 

Do something creative; needlework, painting, crafts

 

Get a professional facial, monthly if possible, at least quarterly

 

Deep conversations with a loved one, friends, children

Brush and floss your teeth daily, dry brush and massage gums

 

Stimulate your brain; crossword and jigsaw puzzles, learn a new

hobby, learn a new language, study a new subject, go back to school

Journal

 

Rest your eyes with eye pads

 

Do a pedicure and paint your toenails a bright pretty color

 

At least once a year treat yourself to a professional hair cut, hair

styling or hair coloring; a hot stone massage, a facial, acupuncture

treatment, reiki treatment, manicure and pedicure, paraffin hand

treatment

 

Buy fresh flowers or flowering plants

 

Take care of your fingernails; massage cuticles, soak nails in oil,

file softly, buff to a shine, polish

 

Sing

 

Go barefoot

 

Walk in the Rain (with or without an umbrella)

 

Walk in the snow

 

Go beachcombing and collect shells... make sure there are no live

critters in them, and take only a few

 

Apply hand cream at least once a day

Do aerobics, yoga, tai chi (use a videotape or take a class)

Listen to music; provide a variety (classical, rock, popular, New

Age, country, religious, ethnic, opera)

 

Give yourself a facial with a mask, steam and cream

 

Trust; yourself, your loved ones, your friends and neighbors,

strangers, a Higher Power

Stop blaming yourself and others

 

Read inspirational things

 

Do devotions (this works in ALL belief systems)

 

Sit quietly and listen; to sounds, to your thoughts, to your heart
