Guest guest
Just another little tidbit on this. Dr. Randall Frank of Natural Healing, at a seminar I attended talked about his experience with microwaves that made him decide never to use one again. For some of the work he was doing, he needed shiitake mushrooms. The reason he wanted the shiitake mushrooms is because the DNA in the mushrooms is always identical, making the mushrooms identical. Anyway, he had a friend send him a kit to grow the mushrooms. Following the directions in the kit, which called for him to boil water, as he didn't have a pan large enough for the amount of water he needed to boil on the stove, he grabbed a plastic bowl and used it in the microwave. He then used that water and followed all the instructions for growing the mushrooms. Later, as the mushrooms were maturing, he showed them to a friend of his, who asked him what they were....she was very familiar with shiitake mushrooms and said there is no way those looked like them. The only thing he did was heat water in a plastic bowl in the microwave and then use that water in the kit to grow the mushrooms. That move altered the DNA of the mushrooms so much that they were not recognizable as shiitake mushroom. I know that meat is always gross if cooked in the microwave, and, interestingly, a few years ago, after I had been heating water in the microwave for tea all the time, one time I used the teapot on the stove and my husband asked me what I did differently, as the tea was incredibly better...it was only heating the water on the stove. I no longer have a microwave. Glass, plastic, whatever is used in it, I don't believe it is just what you cook in the microwave with, but the microwave itself that can destroy the food value of anything cooked in it.
