Guest guest
This sounded like fun! Be Well, Misty http://www..com Plant Perfumes Passing this on from another list I'm on..... Debbie Adams This 'recipie' is from a book called " Nature Crafts for Kids " . I haven't tried it yet but plan to in the future to give as gifts. If anyone tries it, please post how it turns out! Supplies: * Grain Alcohol (don't use rubbing alcohol b/c it has too strong an odor. One brand of grain alcohol is Everclear.) * Good smelling flowers or leaves (examples are rose petals, lavendar leaves or flowers, mint leaves, jasmine flowers, and gardenia petals.) * Small glass bottles with tight-fitting caps Directions: 1) Chop or cut the plant materials into tiny pieces. 2) Put the pieces in a small bottle and add the grain alcohol. Be sure to fill the bottle completely, so there is very little air. 3) Let the bottle sit for 2 weeks. Then uncap it and strain the perfume to remove the pieces of the plant. 4) Smell the perfume. If it smells like the plant, recap it and let it age for another week. If it doesn't smell strong enough, chop up some more of the plant, and let the perfume sit another 2 weeks.
