Thanks, Misty.

Only those who would say that cancer has nothing to DO with the strength of

the immune system (Of course, those proponents of chemotherapy act as though

this were so.) would say anything like that. It has been documented for more

than 30 years that the leukocytic index [a direct measurement of immune

function] is reduced 90% within 15 minutes of ingestion of the amount of

sugar there is in the average family meal [see sugar at

askwaltstollmd.com]--and lasts for about 2 hours. In my opinion, most

" professionals " just conveniently ignore such inconvenient facts.

Cheers to Dr Mercola!

Speaking of cancer - I live near the Roswell Park Cancer Institute. I

have a friend who has cancer and she goes there for treatment, and she

was amazed that they have NO nutrition program. They just tell her she

can eat whatever she wants!! I was just so disappointed in that

information - you hear so much good about Roswell, you would think they

would have a clue as to what different foods you should avoid.

Jen,

I thought this interesting.... A Cancer Institute doesn't even suggest

eating properly to help your body.... Go figure, I guess they want to

make sure their patients go for their chemo treatments... By the way if you

get tired of messages like this just tell me.

Hi Carol...

I know, that absolutely amazes me too... I went to the doctors with a friend

who was diagnosed with a serious disease, it wasn't cancer but clearly a life or

death condition, and again, not only did they not have a nutrition program, they

repeatedly " reassured " him that he would not have to change his diet (or other

parts of his lifestyle, ie. alcohol...) at all... These doctors said it with

such conviction, that I never was able to help my friend see the benefit of such

changes...

My hubby gets the same thing from his doctor (hubby and I don't see eye

to eye on nutrition, to say the least!!)

Hubby has high cholesterol and was on 20 mg. lipitor for quite a while,

and when he went in to see his doctor a couple months ago for a checkup,

his cholesterol level was elevated - so the doctor upped his lipitor to

40 mg. per day!!!!! Unbelievable what these doctors don't know - or

don't tell you. I asked hubby when he got home - didn't he tell you to

stop smoking, or to quit eating all that ice cream, or to add more

fruits or veggies to your diet? Of course, he didn't. Most of these

doctors would be out of a job if they told people how to be healthy.

Sorry I was actually trying to forward to someone. I didn't mean for this

message to be posted... My goof. I was just going to start sending

messages referring to cancer, etc. because a relative just was diagnosed

with Lymphoma. Anyway, sorry for the mess up.

I personally had the same situation. I asked the doctor if he could recommend a

diet for me that would allow me to fight cancer nutritionally, and he said he

could not help me. He didn't know. That from a radiation oncologist. The net

has been my guide for what to eat, and what not to eat, including groups such as

this.

Actually it makes quite a bit of sense that the doctors or medical

institutions don't say anything about nutrition.

It is after all how they make a comfortable living. It's not them that

gets sicker, but they do get richer. Why ruin a good thing?

Think about it. I'll shut up before I get up on my soap box.

Hi Carol,

Is your hubby also on Hydrochlorathiazide, by any chance ?

My dad, after having a shunt put in for a heart-attack nearly 3 years ago,

the doctor gave him lipitor but with excess water retention they also put him on

this.

Is this comon ? and why does his left knee still blow up to the size of a

softball about every 3 weeks lasting several days ?

I am curious and concerned these doctors are not really helping him at all.

Check out who I am at affect_ive1

Hi Ricki,

No, he is not on Hydrochlorathiazide, what is it for? He is also on

Atenelol for high blood pressure - he also had a stent put in about 3

years ago because of an " almost heart attack " with an artery 95%

blocked.

I don't know about your dad's knee - I would think it is a side-effect

of the drug he is on. Make sure he reads all the fine print that comes

in the insert when he gets is prescription. That will list a billion

side effects. Maybe his doctor could change his prescription to find

one that doesn't do that. Or maybe your dad would be willing to improve

his diet - I know my hubby is not - his philosophy is " give me a bigger

pill and a bigger bowl of ice cream " . Unbelievable how some people's

minds work.

When that happens with his knee again, he may want to add some

plant-based enzymes to his diet - they are good for any kind of

inflammation.

Hi Ms. Ricki...

I hope you don't mind, I took the liberty to look up swollen joints

in homeopathic reference books and found:

Belladonna

Bryonia

Colchicum

Hepar Sulphur

Ledum

Sulphur

All very highly listed...

I also cross referenced this list with left sided complaints, and

while they all cover the left side, the Sulphur was the strongest...

You might find it interesting to investigate these remedies

further...

Hi Carol,

I thought I would do the same for you... Even if your hubby is not

interested, there might be others that would benefit and enjoy this

information...

For the heart in general Arnica is a wonderful remedy... Arnica is

normally thought of in relationship to muscles, and what is the

heart, but a big muscle... It can be very good before or after

heart issues- I would also consider doing it during, but only with

medical supervision for such an acute life or death situation...

For blocked arteries, if it is a clot, I just learned yesterday that

Kali Mur. is very, very good. Be careful though as that it will

lower the need for heparin, which is used to thin the blood, so best

done in conjuction with medical supervision as well.

For cholesterol, Arnica and Calendula work great. They will heal

the arteries, and eliminate the need for the body to lay down

cholesterol in the arteries.
