Guest guest
Hello Misty, I first started my period at age 10. I have been overweight since age 6. I started having problems in high school. I didn't perceive them as problems then. If I went for months without a period, I was happy. I never even told anyone. I wasn't sexually active so I knew I wasn't pregnant. The first time I realized there was a problem was when I cycled into months of bleeding without stopping. It was in college in 1991, I was about 23. I was dorming and called home to tell my mom I had a problem with my period, but never went into specifics. My mom asked if I still had my period, I said yes. She said call her when it is over and she will make an appointment, that ladies didn't get examined while they were having it. Well my period never went away so a year later, still at college, I passed out. My roommate made me leave, said I wasn't dying on her. I came home, went to the doctor, she put me on Birth control pills. I am not sure my period has ever been normal. I never know when it is coming, I don't get symptoms .... no pain, no cramps, just the bleeding starts. I started wearing a pad everyday back then, because it was never predictable, I still do. I wasn't aware about mood swings, but my last boyfriend tells me that I get real moody around my cycle, and that it is bad. That I am nasty, picked fights with him .. etc. He said it goes away after my period leaves. He also noted that if I am in a cycle on no period, around the time it should come, I still have mood swings, although no perod comes. I am not aware of anything happening at that time. Sometimes while on the pill, it stops regulating and my period will still either stop, or fail to stop. Then they would change the pill or put me on straight hormones for a while. When I stabalize back to the regular pill. I have been constantly tested for cysts, fibroids and other problems. All the tests come back normal. I know that I have an inverted uterus and that it is small from exams. Before last week, I had missed my period for three months. When it came on this week, I wasn't sure it was my period. The blood was very dark, lots of clots, almost black looking. It looked almost like some body tissue in it, it was so clotty. I had been sick the two weeks before, and lost my voice. Was in the house taking Amoxicilin, allegra and a nose spray. My stool had turned black. A nurse friend had advised it might be blood, I thought maybe a side affect of the amoxicilin. I have a follow up in the morning for the sickness (my doctor said it was a just a bad cold) that caused me to lose my voice and for a general physical. It is my regular doctor, so I wasn't planning to talk to him about the problems with my period. Going to make an appointment with my GYN. When my period started, and I had no idea,it was coming because I had no symptoms. My stool stopped being totally black. Back to normal brown with black spots. At that same time, after maybe four or five days the blood is now bright red and flowing so heavy it is almost like I am hemorghing (sp). Actually, I had been sort of short and irritable with my mom lately. Now I am realizing it has probably been a mood swing. I am really low on energy due to the large amounts of blood loss. I had recently stopped eating meat. I also had not been eating well lately. I just moved two and a half weeks ago from Maryland back to New York. So I don't have a routine yet here. And my eating got really bad. I probably haven't had a decent meal in over a week, no veggies, some fruit, very little protein. When I realized, I went out and got some meat to eat. That made me immediately sick, but it gave me a little bit more energy. I have asked my mom to cook some meat the next few days for me. Other than the mood swings and being a little short and nasty, (now I find out), I don't recall experiencing anything. There are no cramps, no pain, I imagine I might get bloated, hard to tell with my size. The only thing is that when I have my period, and this has been going on for as long as I can remember, I move my bowels every time I use the bathroom. There are no headaches, I don't get acne. As I said, I don't get any warning signs that it is coming. I just look down and there is it. As a result, I wear a pad every day of my life for the last several years. Merle " Misty L. Are there any illnesses or injuries or surgeri that may be relevant? What were your last three periods like? What color was the blood? Was there pain? If so, how would you describe the nature of the pain? What makes the pain better or worse? Are there clots? What color/size? Does menstrating affect your emotions? If so, do you become irritable, weepy, inconsoliable, withdrawn, etc.? Is there anything else you are experiencing with your period, such as headaches, constipation/diarrhea, acne, sleeplessness, etc.? What other unique syptoms can you share with us, while you are menstrating or not? Be Well, Misty http://www..com
Guest guest
Hi Merle, Thank you for taking the time to write in the extra information... Believe it or not, but a cold where you lose your voice was invaluable information, as well as the black stool... Here is how those symptoms repetorize out: FEMALE GENITALIA/SEX - MENSES - black FEMALE GENITALIA/SEX - MENSES - bright red STOOL - BLACK LARYNX AND TRACHEA - VOICE - hoarseness The two leading remedies were Phosphorous and Ferrum Met. Phosphorous is a known bleeding remedy and can have lots of hoarseness. Ferrum Met is known to give great assistance to those who are recovering from blood loss, anemia, etc. Here is the research, if you would like to use it, you can go to a health food store, in NY I would not think that is too difficult to locate a good one, and get homeopathic phosphorous 30c and ferrum met 30c. I would take them together every 15 minutes for 1 hour, every half hour for 2 hours, every hour for 4 hours, and then every two hours afterwards. I would do that for a day or two, check in with us and let us know how the bleeding is going. After that you will still want to take them, but less often so as to rebuild and rebalance your system- keep us posted because that is the only way to know when to adjust either the remedies or the dosage. Now, that being said, proper nutrition is stil important, I know there are people trying to get you to buy different products, I do not condone people trying to use this forum to sell their products or services, this is meant to be a way to offer geniune, self-less assistance. But the discussion of the importance of nutrition is still very much valid. Homeopathy will help your body to rebalance the subtle processes that led to your conditions, but that does not change that one MUST still need to take in the proper nutritional building blocks for the body to utilize. I recommend looking into juicing. I would especially like to see you focus on beet juice, spinach, kale, parsley, dandelion greens, and if you do not have the capability to juice, then to at least start incorporating these into your diet, preferably raw. (a golden rule while juicing, the above mentioned juices should never be more than 1 part to 4 parts of carrot juice- partly for reasons of taste but most importantly- to not create too intense of a healing crisis.) Wheatgrass falls into its own category. It must be juiced and it can be taken alone, though I never recommend it. The taste is super sweet, and is most palitable when combined with a good tart cranberry juice. While I can be purist in some things, I recognize if you don't get the juice in you, it can never be of benefit, so just make sure you can get it in. Wheatgrass is the king of sprouts. Because of this, it has live enzymes because it came from a live plant and not from a bottle of pills that may have been sitting around for who knows how long. Wheatgrass has proven to be of immense benefit for those with anemia, bloodloss etc. It has been used by those suffering from cancer and other serious conditions as well. One good ounce of wheatgrass juice is equivilent to 2 1/2 pounds of garden vegetables!! While these suggestions take a little more work, if the goal is to build a more holistic and healtheir life you will be on solid footing. Be Well, Misty http://www..com , " Merle D.
