Guest guest
Carol, Where do you get stainless steel pans without coating? I've looked everywhere - no luck - others would probably also want to know! Thanks, Karen
Guest guest
Hi Carol, It's all a befuddlement, isn't it? Where do you buy your pans? Maybe some are uncoated - but I haven't seen such a one in years! Karen

Guest guest
What about just plain stainless steel pans? Is there something wrong with them? That's what I use. Guest guest
Karen, Well, now you have me wondering --- what kind of coating would be on stainless steel pans? I've always had stainless steel pans and I never even thought there would be some kind of a coating on them. It doesn't look like they have any coating on them, but do they have to coat them with something when they make them? Guest guest
The ones I got were purchased (I think) at Sears - I don't actually remember, I've had them for eons. Stainless steel pans last almost forever. I'm pretty sure you could buy stainless steel pans at any department store - maybe even WalMart or Target? I haven't bought any for a long time, but I think I see them being advertised. The Teflon coated ones you are talking about are usually aluminum pans coated with Teflon, right? I really don't think they put anything on the stainless steel ones, unless they put something on at the factory as some type of a sealant - I don't know about that, but it doesn't look like there's anything on them. If you type in " stainless steel pans cookware " in your search engine, it'll take you to a bunch of sites. Carol MidbarNM [MidbarNM] Hi Carol, It's all a befuddlement, isn't it? Guest guest
The stainless steal pans I have I purchased from QVC.com. I love them. Most have the non-stick coating which I what I think was being referred to. There are some without. I have a saucepan without. Guest guest
www.brylanehome.com. Do a search for pots. They offer some very nice enamel pots. I bought the 22 piece set. The frying pans are teflon, I don't use them. For a hundred bucks the other pots are still reasonably priced. I use cast iron for frying. --- MidbarNM wrote: > Does anyone know where to purchase pans that are NOT coated with something or > other we don't want!?? Guest guest
Be careful with stainless steel. The nonmagnetic steel leeches nickel into food. Bring a magnet with you when you shop for stainless. The less expensive pans will be magnetic. --- MidbarNM wrote: > Carol, > > Where do you get stainless steel pans without coating? Guest guest
And don't the cast iron pans leach too much iron into your food? Carol Joe [fasarius] Be careful with stainless steel.
