Guest guest
Ok Misty, This isn't easy is it? ugghhhhh Alright this is my schedule of the doses... It isn't perfect and I know you are going to shake your head... 9:00 pm Sun 10:10 am Mon 2:20 pm Mon 5:20 pm Mon 9:30 pm Mon 10:00 am Tue 12:30 am Tue 3:30 pm Tue 6:00 pm Tue 9:00 pm Tue Ok so now that I think about it maybe things are being helped... Ok Karen, I must say you could be right.... I know I have to change my thinking, it is just so hard for something you don't know too much about.... I need to learn, learn, learn.... I don't want to give up either. I do know that natural forms of anything are a LOT better than the drugs out there from the pharmaceutical companies. OK, I didn't notice her snoring as bad when I gave the remedies. She seemed to sleep better not perfect still problem breathing from her nose. Although, today for instance, she took a nap and was back to snoring really bad and she seemed really clogged up sounding. It is almost as if something triggers it, just can't figure out what. Her left tonsil is still enlarged because I checked earlier in the morning. Right one doesn't seem enlarged... She has no discharge and hasn't had any since I gave her those other remedies a while back. Now I guess I should have checked her tonsils as I was giving remedy to see if they were still enlarged. I am not good at this as you can tell... She wasn't more clingy. Although we had an episode with her toe, she whined about it a lot. That is why I didnt give the remedy until Sunday night. It was swollen/pussy from a possibly ingrown toe nail or blister from new shoes. Well I decided to use what I had and soaked it in Tea Tree Oil in water. I happened to read that EOs antidote the remedies, so I waited until evening. Well now something new just came up... My daughter is itching herself... It doesn't look like there is anything wrong, no redness or swelling... Now this brings something to mind that may be related. I just didn't think about it until she started itching. It is just I am learning with Homeopathy details are so important... She used to itch herself a good bit say 5 months ago, but then stopped and I didn't think nothing of it. Now I am wondering if it could be related? My daughter had ear infections starting about 15 months and she would always get one with a cold. She didn't get colds often enough for her to be on other medications, but she got the usual antibiotic. I know antibiotics cause yeast problems in adults, same for children? She has stopped getting ear infections since I'd say a year or so ago thank goodness. We have a reliable doctor who said she would probably outgrow them and she did. So she hasn't had antibiotics for a while, but I guess that could have hurt her in some other way. She was also a colicky baby, which I don't know if that matters now. Also, a very stressful household too at the time. She was my first born, learning to breastfeed and had our inlaws living with us. So there is a little more background... I just wasn't sure if it is applicable or not. Another thing that may or may not be applicable. Oh the things that come back from the past.... Sorry... Anyhow, she may of had problem with certain foods/dairy/butter when 1-2 yrs old. There were certain times her stomach would get upset. I thought it was a dairy problem since I and my father couldn't drink milk when we were babies.... Of course doctors say it isn't hereditary so what do I know. Anyhow, as an example, I can remember vividly. We were at a Christmas party and there was this broccoli/rice dish with lots of butter. Well, my daughter ate it and promptly threw it up on me.... There were other times milk didn't sit well with her either. Not all the time though which I can't figure out why. Maybe something else is causing the problem to make it worse. Who knows... So saying all that here is a summary of rubrics we had with possible changes: Nose, discharge, suppressed ****may not be applicable since there was no discharge when giving remedy. Remedy should relieve suppression correct? It may have only been suppressed before since she was getting a cold. She might not have anything else suppressed. Throat, swelling, tonsils ****Same but may only be left I'll check again Throat, swelling, tonsils, left ****same Respiration, snoring. ****possibly better with remedy, not totally corrected. Although something must trigger it because this evening she isn't snoring badly.... Oh this is so frustrating.... Maybe dampness... We were outside on the porch before her nap today.... It was a rainy dreary day. I don't know if sleeping on one side is better or not. I tried to determine that before and I don't think it matter what side she slept on. Respiration, difficult, nose, felt in ****same respiration; difficult; children; ****same respiration; difficult; during sleep; **** possibly better with remedy, but not totally corrected. Something must trigger or cause it. She is sleeping somewhat peacefully now. Itchiness ****Will monitor her tomorrow to see if still true Ok I'm done. Sorry for this being so long... I do appreciate help with this. It is truly a learning experience... THANK YOU!!! Lisa
Guest guest
Hi Lisa... You are doing a fine job! Yes, homeopathy can be like entering the world of Alice and wonderland, at first... But you are catching on quite quickly... For the milk aggravation, ie.- being worse from drinking milk, Pulsatilla is a two- so I still think we are on track. Now that is not to say, that in future a different remedy might be indicated, like Belladonna for an ear-ache, even though she aggravates from milk- a Puls. symptom (but also found in other remedies). This is an issue of a constitutional remedy vs. a legional remedy. But I don't think we have to go there just now... Because the Puls. does seem to be helping. To have snoring improve in only 2 days is really quite remarkable. So let's keep on keeping on... Basically you have given the remedy 4-5 times a day, that is fine... I was wondering if she got better than worse because that would be a sign of taking the remedy too much... But since that is not the case, I would continue to aim for 4-5 times a day. Do this for another 2-3 days and check back in... This is probably a good time to say that an entrenched pattern such as snoring does not have to resolve itself in 2-3 days, nor a week, nor a month- instead what we want to see is the progression of cure. In allopathic medicine, symptoms are eliminated quickly, so we say people are " healed " but I think this is done by squashing the body, which in turns makes it weaker and more susceptible. In homeopathy we allow more time because we understand the body has to work through the process of becoming well, and by allowing the body the time to go through the process, it comes out stronger in the end, in addition to having less symptoms. Speaking of progression of cure- the itching just might be a good sign. We will have to see what happens to be sure, but when previous symptoms return, it is viewed that the body really is taking on that healing process and it is resolving previously unresolved situations. Many other branches of alternative medicine have this concept as well, last symptoms heal first, and the first symptoms heal last. According to this line of thought, please don't be surprised if she gets an earache... The other thing to consider, has she ever had a rash? Is she developing a rash? In homeopathy we see rashes as the body's attempt to express and throw off disease. If we hit the nail on the head, a rash may develop and this is undoubtedly a wonderful sign. If this happens please leave the rash alone- no steriods, ointments, ect! You can apply a nice veggie oil such as almond or olive, but we do not want to squash the rash in any way because we do not want to drive the illness back inside the body. Thirdly, the itching or any other new symtpoms could be insight into the next remedy layer coming to show it self... So in other words, it could also mean that a new symtpom picture is developing which would require again taking the case and finding the then best remedy to match that symptom picture.... So, where does that leave us? If it were me, myself and I, I would keep on with the Puls for 4-5x/day for 2-3 days and then check back in and tell us how everything has developed. But should anything change for the better or the worse before then, please feel free to keep us informed...
