Hello to all --

 

With Misty's encouragement, let me introduce myself. I'm a certified

hypnotherapist and certified HypnoBirthing® practitioner. I've been

in private practice for almost 11 years, and I love what I do since

it's all about empowering my clients to take responsibility for their

own health and well being. I consider myself a teacher rather than

a " therapist. " In fact, because I am not a licensed psychologist or

counselor, I am not able to do therapy anyhow.

 

The problems I deal with are wide and varied: a lot of the problems

I see are stress-related, so in addition to working with those, I

help people with self-esteem issues, anxiety, smoking, phobic

behavior, eating problems, and habit control. There's no

right " tool " for everyone, which means I use a variety of modalities:

relaxation training, hypnosis, deep breathing and/or guided imagery.

 

One of my favorite areas is working with people who are facing and

dealing with catastrophic illnesses such as cancer or HIV infection.

I am also interested in helping people prepare for surgery by

teaching them how to relax, as well as to deal with any post-op

discomfort. I don't know if it's widely known yet that surgical

patients who are relaxed need less anesthetic, have fewer

complications and less post-op pain, and generally leave the hospital

sooner.

 

I am certified by the Southwest Hypnotherapists Examining Board and

the Internation Medical & Dental Hypnotherapy Association.
