Guest guest
Hi Misty, and everyone, Thanks for the re-introduction offer - (and by the way, my name is Karen Milstein). I'm the psychotherapist who includes energy psychology in my practice. For the moment, the best introduction I can give is to include the flyer from an up-coming training I will be presenting. Also, even though we have just passed the early registration deadline, as a courtesy I am extending this deadline through the rest of this week to anyone who identifies him or herself as a list member. For a better formatted version which is easier to read, please see attachment. Regards, Karen ************************ Trauma Treatment: An Energy Psychology Approach A full day workshop for psychotherapists, health care personnel, and educators Presented by Karen K. Milstein, PhD, LISW Why: Trauma is unfortunately an increasingly common problem in our society, and occurs at individual, group, and mass disaster levels. What: This training explains stress, trauma, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Current research indicates that standard treatment for trauma and PTSD frequently further traumatizes or re-traumatizes the client, and may produce secondary trauma in the therapist. Cutting-edge, energy-based trauma treatment methods have the power to treat trauma very gently before the neurological changes that accompany PTSD have an opportunity to become established. Further, they frequently can ameliorate PTSD symptoms, allowing greatly improved functioning. Participants will learn a variety of Energy Psychology treatment methods and how to organize them within a framework of understanding trauma and how to intervene at what stages. You will also learn to apply this work with teenagers and children, and what clients can do on a self-help basis. Who: Dr. Karen Milstein, experienced psychotherapist and trainer, recently trained 130 therapists in Israel in this work, receiving excellent feedback. Prerequisite: Basic familiarity with Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) prior to the workshop. Learn online at <emofree.com> or contact Karen Milstein. When: Friday May 2, 2003, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (lunch on you). Where: In Santa Fe, at Unitarian Church, 107 West Barcelona. Cost: $110; $100 early registration (postmarked by March 31). 3 or more registering together - $100 each; $90 each early registration. CEUs: 6 1/2 hours approved by New Mexico Social Work Board and Counseling Board; pending for Psychology. To register or for additional information: Karen K. Milstein, PhD, LISW 162 Rancho Alegre Rd.
