Cancer Risks Associated With Paxil Usage

 

The American Journal of Epidemiology published two studies in 2000

by Cotterchio and colleagues which demonstrated that Paxil presented

a 720% increase in risk of breast cancer in females.

 

The Canadian Cancer Society website indicates that for heavy smokers

there is a 400% increase in risk for cancer. In other words, Paxil

use presents a greater risk factor for breast cancer then smoking.

With over 3,000,000 Canadian prescriptions for Paxil in the year

2000 this is major cause for concern.
