Hi everyone-

I got this from Dr. Mark's newsletter, I though you might enjoy

knowing this too...

Thank you Dr. Mark,

Misty.

Is the world wide top selling prescription drug: estrogen, viagra or

prilosec?

According to Business Week, Prilosec is the top selling prescription

drug in the world! It earns Astra Zeneca, the drug's maker, 6

billion dollars per year! For it to do that, it must work wonders,

right?

Wrong!

Many patients currently taking the newest and most expensive

heartburn drugs are dissatisfied with the results, a new study

reports. Researchers perfomed an online study of 4,200 patients on

drugs such as prilosec and prevacid and found:

35%-41% continue to experience daily heartburn symptoms.

60% reported experiencing symptoms 3 or more times per week.

75% also take nonprescription drugs such as pepcid, maalox and tums!

So, how is it, that this is the most widely sold prescription in the

world, if it does not work well? These new heartburn drugs are

heavily promoted by the drug companies through advertising. So

people are not satisfied with the results of these expensive drugs

but simply through the use of advertising these drugs are making the

drug companies a fortune.

To add insult to injury, these drugs are rarely if ever indicated

for the common ulcer and they are asociated with stomach problems!!

What is wrong with this picture?

How about this: people have been sold the idea (literally) that

hearburn is an event, a symptom, to be treated with another event, a

drug. Yet, we only ever lose or regain our health as the result of

a process, such as: improving our diet, drinking more water,

reducing stress levels, getting more sleep, improving spinal

alignment, etc...

healing process!

The study mentioned above was commissioned by a group of drug

manufactures and conducted by Acuity and Harris interactive.
