Guest guest
A Devotee is Friendly and Compassionate to All Beings Gita says a devotee is not only free from malice for every being, but he is also friendly and compassionate to all beings. " Maitraha karuna eva ca " (Gita 12:13-14). God's nature descends on His devotees and therefore a devotee having the inner feeling of the presence of God in all, is friendly and compassionate to all beings, without any selfish motive, " Suhrdaha sarvadehinaam " (Srimad Bhagawat 3:25:21), God is good hearted affectionate friend of all beings " suhrdam sarvabhootanaam " (Gita 5:29). Therefore devotee is naturally friendly and affectionate towards all beings. " Hetu rahit jag jug upkaari, Tumh tumhaar sewak asuraari " (Manasa 7:47:3). He is friendly even to those who are mean to him, because he holds that whatever is happening is for his welfare, by the sweet will of God. Moreover he is of the belief that those who are harming him, deserve special respect as they are destroying his past sins by becoming the instrument, like the postman in only the instrument in delivering a letter bearing bad news. Therefore in a very special way, the bearer of bad news is deserving of respect.
