12 th Day of Maargasira Maasam

 

 

 

King Sathyavratha brought a small fish home and put it in a fish tank.

 

The Fish grew so enormously , Sathyavratha took it back and left IT

 

in the Ocean . The Fish is Matsya Avathaar of Vishnu Bhagawaan .

 

God Blessed Sathyavratha and promised to save him and his chosen

 

people along with all kinds of living beings in the soon to come big

 

flood ( Mahaa Jala PraLayam ) by pulling the ship with all of them

 

safely till the floods abate . So it came to pass and Sathyavratha became

 

our own Vaivaswatha Manu (7th)and from then on observed 12th day

 

of Maargasira Month as Matsya Dwaadasi .
