Compiled by:

Sai Sevak Smt. Rajeswari Kasturi, Saidarbar – Hyderabad.

Shirdi Sai's Philosophy in the words of Saibanisaji

The lament and cry about their sufferings, entirely misunderstanding the

significance their present acts have upon their following lives and the

relation their suffering have to the acts of their previous lives. They rethink

only of present desire and present suffering.

To us fortunately, the knowledge of the Sai's teachings has come, we

should seek to believe in them and wish to be born in the Sai's Pure land.

Knowing Sai's teachings, we should not follow others into greedy and sinful

ways, nor should we keep the Sai's teachings to ourselves alone, but should

practice the teachings and pass them on to others.

To those who have faith, He offers the opportunity to become one with

Him. As this Sai is the all- inclusive body of equality, whoever thinks of Sai,

Sai thinks of him and enters his mind freely.

This means that, when a person thinks of Sai, he has Sai's mind in all

its pure and happy and peaceful perfection. In other words, his mind is a

Sai-mind

3. SAI IN DREAMS:

http://www.ettitudemedia.com

These are the dream sequences and messages as received by SaiBaNiSaji From our

beloved GURU LORD SAINATH OF SHIRIDI. In Anticipation that this feature will

help in one's spiritual growth are hereby compiled from his personal Diary and

presented to SAIBANDHUS.

Translated and presented by RAGHU RAMAN SATULURY.

MAY-1995:

02-05-1995

Today Sai visually explained the inner meanings of Comfort and happiness.

Both in reality are relative terms with bearing on the state of mind and can

mean differently to different people-

Happiness comes to parents when others shower praises on achievements of

their children.

To some comfort is experienced after participation in a marriage,

followed by a sumptuous and tasty dinner.

Comfort is experiencing while happiness is a feeling.

03-05-1995

Sai has shown me with a visual describing the difference between

obstacles and state of dejection. Both are again relative terms.

- Melancholy is experienced by heart when lifetime savings are looted.

- Helplessness and dejection are writ on the face on separation from the

near and dear ones, unable to have the last glimpse even, in spite of rushing

fast to the graveyard.

Time is the only heal for all untoward happenings in life.

04-05-1995

I prayed Baba to comment on the present state of match making in

marriages. Baba in the form of an unknown person said-

Never enter in to marriage alliance unless the antecedents and

credentials of the groom are fully verified, if need be through some mediators.

Also never believe the middlemen to avoid later problems. Otherwise one may

have to live cursing the fate and god for all the lapses on his part.

The human effort should be put in to the best in matters of this nature.

4. QUINTESSENCE OF SRI SAIBABA'S PHILOSOPHY:

(By Late Sri Bharam UmamaheswaraRao)

" Shashi " : shashi_31

30. Efficacy of Prayer and Worship

The act of bowing, bending is to give up his individuality and deny

himself before he can win the joy of grace.

The folded palms, kept upright on the chest with the prescribed attitude

" Namaskara " has this significance. When folder, the five fingers of one hand

representing the 5 senses of action (Karmendriyas) and the 5 fingers of the

other hand representing the 5 senses of Jnanendriyas, join together and kept in

contact, the oneness of that and you (Tat and Twam) is emphasis and

demonstrated. The namaskara is the Mudra of Aham Brahmaasmi, the Jivatma and

paramatma join together.

Joss Sticks (Agarabatthi) covers with 5 sheats (Pancha Koshas). Prior to

lighting, we place the joss sticks in straight position. This shows the outer

sheath of this stick is 'Ahamkara'. When we light the joss stick, the light of

knowledge and wisdom is kindled in the Jiva, i.e., the impurities start to

burn. Then the ego is completely annihilated. The ash comes from the stick

indicates the detachment, purity. In other words, burning of a joss stick

symbolizes the process of reducing our impurities, the desires and ego to

ashes.

The meaning of giving Arati is – we pray God to make our life as pure and

transparent as camphor and it consumes itself in the fire and scatter warmth of

love to all around us and at the end of it, let there be nothing left of us (as

camphor leaves no ash), to render us liable to enjoy pleasure and pain.

To be continued…..

5. SANATANA DHARMA & SHRI SHIRDI SAIBABA.

Diwali,, is a major Indian festival that is very significant in Hinduism

and Jainism. Known as the " Festival of Lights, " it symbolizes the victory of

good over evil, and lamps (called diyas or kandils) are lit as a sign of

celebration and hope for humankind. The lights also represent the time when

Rama came back from the forest, and all his village lit lamps to welcome him

back home. Celebrations focus on lights and lamps, particularly traditional

d & #299;pa or deeya (earthen lamp, as illustrated). Fireworks are associated with

the festival. Diwali is a colloquial name used in North India, while the

festival is formally called Deepavali in South India.

Diwali is celebrated for five consecutive days at the end of Hindu month

of Kartika (purminata) or Ashwayuja (amanta). It usually occurs in

October/November, and is one of the most popular and eagerly awaited festivals

in India. Diwali comes exactly twenty days after Dussehra. Hindus, Jains and

Sikhs alike regard it as a celebration of life and use the occasion to

strengthen family and social relationships. For Hindus it is one of the most

important festivals, and beginning of the year in some Hindu calendars. There

are several beliefs regarding the origin of the holiday. The most repeated

version is that Hindus celebrate Diwali to mark the time when Lord Rama

achieved victory over Ravana. Some also view it as the day Krishna defeated the

demon Narakasura or in honor of the day Bali went to rule the nether-world,

obeying the order of Vishnu. In Jainism it marks the nirvana of Lord Mahavira,

which occurred on Oct. 15, 527 BCE. It is also a significant

festival for the Sikh faith. In India, Diwali is now considered to be more of

a national festival, and the aesthetic aspect of the festival is enjoyed by

most Indians regardless of faith.

Diwali is celebrated in various parts of the world, in countries such as

the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Suriname, Canada, Guyana,

Mauritius, Fiji, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Singapore, Sri

Lanka, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago , Thailand, Australia, much of Africa,

and the United States.[2] With more and more Indians and Sri Lankans now

migrating to various parts of the world, the number of countries where Diwali

is celebrated has been gradually increasing. While in some countries it is

celebrated mainly by Indian expatriates, in others it has become part of the

general local culture.

Spiritual Experiences

Dr.K Sudhakar of Hyderabad was a confirmed diabetic patient since 18

years and was under treatment for the same. In 1990, he had an abscess on his

right foot, which did not heal in spite of antibiotic injections and

application of ointments.

There is no disease greater than a sinful body, and no doctor

greater than Sri Sai Baba of Shirdi.

He was admitted in hospital and finally it was decided that his foot had

to be amputated lest gangrene might develop and spread to the upper portion of

his leg. The writer who had recorded all the facts of this article, in his

usual daily meditation got a message from Sri Sai Baba, in which the profile of

the patient was shown, with the advice that he would not be cured in the

hospital and therefore he should immediately go home. Baba also prescribed a

mixer of Bilwapatris, Tulasipatra and Sharadaparta juice being applied on the

wound. Upon hearing this, the patient got discharged and followed Baba " s

medicine. Miraculously his wound got completely healed in two weeks!

The writer himself had once suffered a heart attack and was admitted in

the hospital, in May 1998. The doctors after all the tests diagnosed that all

the three valves i.e. Aortic, Mistral and Pulmonary, were not functioning and

due to this there was no sufficient blood circulation to the heart. At this

juncture a by-pass surgery was not possible. A list of medicines to be taken

daily had been prescribed.

Later in one of the messages, Baba said that the diagnosis of the doctors

had been wrong and that it was Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy and

prescribed some medicine for this disease!

Sri V Narayana Rao of Hyderabad said that his son was admitted in the

Gandhi Hospital at Secundrabad, fearing that he was developing brain fever. A

doctor examined his son and wrote on the case sheet that the disease was not

brain fever. He wondered that it was unusual for a doctor to write that way.

Further more how could he read his mind?! He thought that Sri Sai Baba had

appeared as the doctor to relieved him of his tension. His son meanwhile in a

semiconscious state had been chanting 'Sai Ram " .

The next day the fever subsided. The cure for this disease was the mantra

'Sai Ram', recited by the patient. There are innumerable miracles performed by

Baba even after His Mahasamadhi. These experiences of devotees confirm that Sri

Sai Baba is still living with us and guiding us in every affair. There is no

disease greater than a sinful body, and no doctor greater than Sri Sai Baba of

Shirdi.

7. SAI WITH CHILDREN:

http://www.saidarbar.org/HTML/portraits/7.jpg

Smt. Madhu Gopal Ravada, Saidarbar, Hyderabad.

Hello Children! I am Madhu aunty. Do you know Baba use to play with

children and used to tell stories to them? I felt children visiting Saidarbar

should be entertained with good stories. Now I want to tell the stories what

heard in my child hood.

The Broken Pot

A water bearer in India had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a

pole which he carried across his neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, while

the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.

At the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot

arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the

bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water to his house.

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, perfect for

which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own

imperfection, and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it

had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke to

the water bearer one day by the stream. " I am ashamed of myself, and I want to

apologize to you. I have been able to deliver only half my load because this

crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.

Because of my flaws, you have to do a lot of this work, and you don't get full

value from your efforts, " the pot said.

The bearer said to the pot, " Did you notice that there were flowers only

on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side? That's because I

have always known about your flaw, and I planted flower seeds on your side of

the path, and every day while we walk back, you've watered them.

For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to

decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be

this beauty to grace the house. "

The Moral: Each of us has our own unique flaws. We're all cracked pots.

But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very

interesting and rewarding.

8. SPIRITUAL GEMS FROM SAI SATCHARITRA

. " Swamy " swamymain

Sat, November 3, 2007 12:20 pm

Sai Ram. Let us continue with the Spiritual Gems from the chapter 25 of

Shri Sai Satcharitra. Sai Ram.

We have already seen how Baba disapproved of Anna's efforts to get into

cotton speculation and how He disapproved Anna's efforts in trying to make Baba

a partner in that. Now let us see how He protected His devotee from other

losses too. Sai Ram.

SSS: (2) Grain-Dealing

Then he thought of trading in grain, rice, wheat and other groceries.

Baba read also this thought and said to him, " You will be buying at five seers

and selling at seven seers a rupee " . So this business was also given up. The

rice in the prices of grains was kept up for some time, and Baba's prophecy

seemed to be falsified, but in a month or two there was abundant rain

everywhere and the prices suddenly fell down; and, therefore, those who stored

grains suffered a severe loss. Damu Anna was saved from this fate. Needless to

say that the cotton speculation which was conducted by the broker with the help

of another merchant also collapsed with a severe loss to the adventurers. After

seeing that Baba had saved him from two severe losses in cotton and grain

speculations, Damu Anna's faith in Baba grew strong and he remained a true

devotee of Baba till His passing away and even now.

SSG: Sai Ram. For faith to become strong and to stay strong, some

miracles etc. like the above are needed. Baba was aware of that and encouraged

the faith to develop by helping the devotee on the spiritual path. Sai Ram.
