Guest guest
Endless Joy Just like a rich man always experiences shortage in his wealth - " Jimi pratilaabh lobh adhikaayi, " in the same way, loving devotees of God, always feel the shortage of love. If we do not see some shortfall in our love, how would it be possible to have ever increasing love? To believe that we are lacking in our love, is the feeling of " eternal separation " (nitya viraha). Both eternal separation and eternal union are eternal. Therefore neither the longing for union is ever completely satisfied, nor is there ever a separation from the lover. In Knowledge (jnana) one can attain satisfaction - " Aatmatruptassrh maanavh, " (Gita 3:17), but in love there is never complete satisfaction. It is for this reason that even though salvation has been attained, then too there is hunger for that nectar of love. Before attaining salvation, there is a separation between the embodied soul (atma) and Supreme Soul (paramatma), however, on attaining salvation, they are united. Further, after salvation, when love is awakened, there is no more separation between embodied soul (atma) and Supreme Soul (paramatma). The separation that is experienced between soul and God, before salvation, due to egoism, leads him to bondage. But on attaining salvation, when the egoism is destroyed, the separation felt by the lover and his loved one, is one that gives endless joy.
