Supreme Consciousness is Self-Evident

There is one point that needs great attention - That which is called

salvation, benediction or God Realization, is self-evident. It is

not something that is realized by effort or activity. This is a very

amazing and astonishing point ! Have mercy and pay great attention

towards this point. All the things that are in this world, being

part of Nature and it's activities, are at all times changing. Being

of the mode of activity, those things are also only attained via

activity. Rather all things in this world are based on activity and

effort. There is a great, a very subtle point, which is - The

essence of Supreme Consciousness (Paramatma) is self-evident and

ever-realized. This essence is not attained via effort or activity.

This point has to be given much attention. It is being said, simply

to draw your attention to the point. This message came to me after

many years of listening to saints. This point is also aligned with

all the scriptures. If you only pay attention towards this point

then there will be immense gain. Now I am revealing this point, so

please pay attention.

We believe that Supreme Consciousness (Supreme Soul, God, Paramatma)

is at all times, at all places, in all, and belongs to all. Now

contemplate on these four points.

1) Supreme Consciousness is at all times - Therefore is He not

present at this moment? If He is not present at this very moment,

then it would not be appropriate to say that He is present at all

times.

2) If Supreme Conscoiousness (God) is at all places - Then is He not

here? If He is not here, then how can He be considered to be in all

places? That would not be OK to say.

3) Supreme Consciousness is in all - He is in both inert and

sentient, movable and immovable, etc. in all. Living things can be

of two kinds, movable and immovable. Trees etc are immovable and

man, animals and birds are mobile creatures. Now the inert,

sentient, movable and immovable, all have God (Supreme

Consciousness) . Even in the creatures that have very limited or

base understanding and even in those that have the most

criminalistic behavior, they too have God (Supreme Consciousness) in

them. God is present in the saints and great souls. Even in the

purest of things, as well as, the most impure things, have Supreme

Consciousness in them. In hell too God is entirely present. If God

is present in everyone, then is He not present in us ? If He is not

in us, then how can it be said that God is present in all ? That

would not go well.

4) God belongs to all. It is not that He belongs to the ascetics or

the householder. It is not that he belongs to only men or only

women, or only Brahmins etc. We cannot say that God belongs more to

a particular individual. The worst of sinners, have as much right on

God, as do the great Souls and Saints of this world. There is not

the least bit of favoritism in God. It is impossible for Him to

favor one over another. Rather God belongs to all, therefore he

belongs to us as well. If He does not belong to us, then how can it

be said that God belongs to all. Now what have you realized from all

this?

That God is at all times, therefore He is at this moment as well, He

is in all places, therefore He is here, He is in everyone, therefore

He is in me, as well, and He belongs to everyone, therefore He

belongs to me as well.

Now with what you have just heard, can God be realized by effort and

activity? If you pay great attention to these four points it will

become apparent and very clear that God is ever attained. He is at

all times realized.

2. I Now Remember - Smritir Labdhva

We can only give up that which was not ours in the first place. i.e.

That with which we had no relationship. However, that with which we

have a permanent relationship, cannot be given up (sacrificed) .

What this means is that in reality, there is no relationship at all,

but the relationship is assumed. It is this assumption that is given

up. Just like no one can remove the radiance from the Sun, because

the Sun and it's rays / radiance is one. In the same way, if there

was " doership " (kartuttva) in the Self, then it could not be

removed. But there is no doership in the Self, there is no

expression or feeling of " I am doing " in the Self - " na Karoti Na

Lipyate " (Gita 13:31). We have only assumed and made believe this

feeling of " I am doing " , by mistake we have believed this. If you

leave this, then the essential Truth will become self-evident.

It is because of this that Arjuna said - " nashto moha, smritir

labdhvaa " (Gita 18:73). I now have a recollection, I now remember.

That which is remembered, what effort is involved in that ? It is

not that you have to even try to remember. On it's own, it surfaces

and you recollect. " Smritir labdhvaa. " It was once forgotten. The

attention was not there on it. But now it is remembered.

In Bhakti yog (path of devotion), it is remembered that " I am God's "

In Jnana Yog (path of knowledge), it is remembered that the real

identity of the Self is unchangeable and flawless. And in Karma Yog

(path of service) it is remembered that this world is not mine and

not for me. To remember something is not based on doing something.

It is not based on any activity or effort (it is not karan-

saapeksh " . It is effortless (it is karan-nirpeksh) .

To revisit this point - It is without any effort, without doership,

without action, without act of doing, without act of giving, without

the act of taking away or removing something, without any support or

base. There is no causative factor or " doer " associated with it, at

all. Because it is not a thing that is achievable by means of any

action (kriyaa saadhya nahi hai), rather it is self-evident (ever-

realized).
